Lumin Amber is the currency that grows a Branch. Feed enough of it into one and the region around you changes: wild Aniimo become easier to catch, the weather shifts on command, and Sparkling rates climb. The catch is that Lumin Amber never sits in a shop. Every single piece is out in the world, usually behind a fight, a puzzle, or a movement ability you may not have unlocked yet.
Quick answer: There are 180 Lumin Amber spread across the Idyll overworld and its four underground floors, but you only need 150 to unlock every Branch skill.
What Lumin Amber does at a Branch
A Branch is the tall structure that reveals a region’s full map when you touch it. Spend Lumin Amber there and you enhance the Branch itself, which pushes buffs out across the whole region rather than to a single Aniimo. Higher catch rates, weather control, and a better Sparkling rate are the three things that change.
The pickup itself is region-flavored. In this part of the world, each one lands in your inventory as Lumin Amber: Breezy, alongside a small amount of EXP.

Knowing the shape of a pickup matters more than memorizing a map pin, because each type asks for something different from your team.

- Field amber — sits in the open, often floating over water or high ground, or guarded by wild Aniimo you have to defeat or capture.
- Lumin Collection — a timed challenge where you sweep up every scattered Lumin energy before the clock runs out.
- Lumin Marking — an engraving split across ruins or terrain. Walk until your camera angle lines the pieces into one symbol.
- Sanctum clear — finishing the puzzle inside a Sanctum pays out a Lumin Amber on top of the chests inside.
Some ambers are attached to a Blessed Aniimo rather than to a spot on the map. When the game flags that a nearby creature is blessed by Lumin Amber, catching it is the reward — not killing it.
Lumin Amber count per area in Breezy Plains
Areas are not evenly stocked, and the level ranges tell you what order to clear them in. Argent Strait is the single richest stop in the low-30s band.

| Area | Level range | Lumin Amber | Lumin Collections |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20–25 | 5 | 1 | |
| 28–32 | 10 | 1 | |
| 47–57 | 6 | 3 | |
| 53–60 | 3 | — |
Forest of Falling Stars
A mid-20s area with 47 chests, 2 blooms, 2 transporters, and 2 Pathfinder challenges alongside its 5 Lumin Amber. Bring a flying Aniimo before you start sweeping it.
The Argent Strait
Ten Lumin Amber, more than any other area in the region, packed in next to 38 chests and 6 Pathfinder challenges. It is the most efficient single stop if you are short of a Branch upgrade.

Zephyrus Landbridge
The late-game sprawl: 58 chests, 18 ecological points, and 6 Lumin Amber, three of which come from Lumin Collections rather than open-world pickups. The level band runs to 57, so this is a cleanup area.

Tideblossom Coast
The thinnest area on the list with 3 Lumin Amber and 23 chests. It also has no bonfire, so plan your healing before you head in at level 53 and up.

Nimbus Fields Lumin Amber locations (17 total)
Nimbus Fields is the starting region and it tracks a 17-piece set. Four of those are underground in the Crystal Cave, which is the part most players walk past. The in-game counter ticks up as x/17, so you always know how much is left.

Crystal Cave ambers (underground)
The entrance sits southwest at roughly -1317, 0715, marked by a campfire and a Cave Explorer NPC. Inside, the first amber comes from the Collapsed Corridor timed collection, which you reach by burning flame thorns with a fire Aniimo. The second needs a flight form to cross the cave arches. The third is a runaway amber you chase after digging through glowing patches as Shrubclaw, and the fourth drops from catching a rare glowing Pebbling hidden behind a burrowable rock wall.

Deeper in, the Sub-Idylian Ruins chamber hosts another Lumin Collection with 10 energy orbs along the stone stairs. Activate the waypoint there before you leave so you do not have to walk the whole cave again.
Surface coordinates
| # | Coordinates | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | -1056, 0859 | Defeat the Aniimo guarding the ruins pedestal |
| 6 | -0935, 0837 | Glide down the cliff to the river |
| 7 | -0959, 0699 | Climb the rocky hill, glide off the peak |
| 8 | -1110, 0743 | Catch the bubbled Nimbi with an Aniipod Mega |
| 9 | -1225, 0775 | Climb the giant plant, glide onto the cloud |
| 10 | -1342, 0821 | Align the Gate of Ruins marking |
| 11 | -1386, 0924 | Water nest at the river junction |
| 12 | -1504, 0792 | Awarded through main quest progress |
| 13 | -1331, 0950 | Glide over the crystal-lined pond |
| 14 | -1288, 0920 | Clear the Core Descent timed collection |
| 15 | -1168, 0771 | Start the race here, finish across the meadow |
| 16 | -1130, 0663 | Solve the vine puzzle with Nimbi’s Twine |
| 17 | -1098, 0636 | Clear the First Spark temple challenge |
The reward for the First Spark temple challenge is not handed to you at the temple. Collect it at -1116, 0744 after the challenge clears.
The ruins pedestal at -1056, 0859 is the one that trips people up. The amber is visible from the path but locked until the wild Aniimo circling the stone platform are cleared, and the game will tell you as much if you try to grab it early.

For the Gate of Ruins marking near -1342, 0821, ignore the archway itself and back away down the grassy path. The broken pillar only lines up with the arch behind it from a distance, and the amber pops the moment the pattern closes.

South near the portal at -1117, 0671 there is a softer one. Put a Nimbi in your active slot, climb onto the giant flower leaf where wild Nimbis are resting, and use the “Nap together” prompt. The amber is the payout for joining them.

Forest of Falling Stars Lumin Amber coordinates
| Coordinates | How to get it |
|---|---|
| -1690, 1123 | Defeat or capture the Celestis group guarding it |
| -1562, 1117 | Floating high up — fly to it |
| -1588, 0951 | Clear the Pranky around the river stream |
| -1811, 0911 | Above crates under a stone arch on the beach |
| -1502, 1186 | Across the Canyon collection |
| -1519, 0934 | Nest of Stars marking on the hollow log |
The Across the Canyon collection at -1502, 1186 does not exist on your map until you have cleared Sanctum: Soaring Glide. If the pin is missing, that Sanctum is why.

Sea of Flowers and Mistwoods Lumin Amber locations
Both of these are short detours rather than full sweeps, and neither needs a specialist team.

- Sea of Flowers, -0446, 0828 — the Village Vistas collection, on top of the tower beside the elder’s house.
- Sea of Flowers, -0491, 0893 — sitting on a large rock next to a tree.
- Mistwoods — the Waterglide collection, on a rock formation in the middle of a river.
- Mistwoods — an amber ringed by Budclaws; clear them to release the Lumin energy.
How many you need, and how to confirm it worked
The full set across the Idyll overworld and its underground floors is 180, but the Branch skill tree tops out at 150. That 30-piece buffer is the useful part of the math: you can skip the hardest platforming pickups entirely and still max every Branch effect.

Confirmation happens in two places. On pickup, the reward banner reads Lumin Amber: Breezy x1 along with a small EXP payout, and the area counter increments — Nimbus Fields, for example, steps through 1/17 to 17/17. If the banner never appears, the amber is still locked behind its guard, its timer, or its alignment.

Then spend it. Walk back to the region’s Branch, open the enhancement screen, and the catch rate, weather, and Sparkling options will show their new tiers. Until you actually invest the amber, hoarding it does nothing for you in the field.
