Russet Highlands sits in the northeastern corner of Breezy Plains, a stretch of rocky peaks and canyons built for late Breezy Plains progress. The recommended visit level is 46–51, and a strong flying or climbing Aniimo makes the ridgelines and stone pillars far easier to reach. Most of its roster wanders the open field, but a handful only appear under specific weather, at night, or after you clear a quest or puzzle.
Quick answer: All 22 Aniimo in Russet Highlands spawn in the open field except those gated behind snowy weather, nighttime, the region’s Prismana flow, the Secret of the Golden Helmet quest, two puzzles, or three Incredible Eggs.
Field spawns you can catch anytime
These creatures roam the region regardless of weather or time. Helmut and Jawling are the most common, while Helgon patrols the sky and needs a flying Aniimo to reach.

Highland Form regional variants
Russet Highlands has its own maple-red regional forms that appear nowhere else in the base area. They spawn at any time of day.
Emberpup (Highland Form) gathers near the Vigilant Eyes Sanctum at around -0048, 1851, along the road toward Zephyrus Landbridge. Flameruff (Highland Form) shares the same area at -0010, 1762, mixed in with the Emberpups.
Iris (Highland Form) roams the lowlands north of the Twister Peaks bloom at -0114, 1881, and its evolution Irisal (Highland Form) patrols the ridgeline nearby at -0202, 1920. Irisal is a rare spawn and may not appear until you reset the zone.
Chirpi (Highland Form) perches on an isolated mushroom-shaped rock column near the Twister Peaks bloom at around -0270, 1818, so fly up to reach it.
Weather-locked spawns (snowy weather only)
Four creatures appear only while it is snowing in Russet Highlands. If the weather is clear, switch it through the game’s functions menu before searching.

Rookey (Snowfield Form) stays sealed inside giant snowballs beside the First Sight Sanctum. Hit them with a fire Aniimo or fire skill to melt them and reveal the creature.
Sparki (Highland Form): nighttime only
Sparki (Highland Form) appears only at night, among the autumn trees and grasslands near the Rainbow Woods bloom at around -0585, 1480. Almost all of its spawn points are nocturnal, so switch to night in the functions menu rather than waiting for the cycle.
Pawney (Prismana Form): the region’s Prismana flow
Pawney (Prismana Form) serves as the region’s sole dedicated Prismana Aniimo. It can appear only after Russet Highlands enters a Prismatic Flow state; each use of Nurture at the region’s Bloom to increase Prismatic Energy has a random chance to trigger that state.
When the flow triggers, a message notes that Prismatic Energy has drawn out the region’s Prismana Aniimo, and a map marker appears automatically. Head to the south side of Rainbow Woods, around -0550, 1615, to find and catch it on the grassy slope. You will know it worked when the Prismana creature spawns at the marked location.
Mountain Woods forms: complete the Secret of the Golden Helmet quest
Both Mountain Woods Helmut and Mountain Woods Rookey stay hidden until you finish the Secret of the Golden Helmet quest. It begins at the golden helmet resting on a rock, surrounded by Devoted Helmuts, at around -0604, 1623. Inspecting the helmet spawns the Mountain Woods Form Helmut hiding beneath it, and catching that creature is the trigger.
Once the quest is done, both Mountain Woods forms begin spawning in the wild across the area, concentrated in the flower field south of First Sight Sanctum at around -0585, 1529, where Mountain Woods Rookey appears surrounded by a group of Helmut.
Mountain forms behind puzzles: Jawling and Helmwhelp
Two Mountain forms are locked behind environmental puzzles. Catching the first of each type causes more of that Mountain form to start appearing elsewhere in the region.

Tubster (Highland Form): collect three Incredible Eggs
Tubster (Highland Form) only appears after you gather all three Incredible Eggs scattered around Russet Highlands. Each rests in a cliffside or riverbank nest.
Alpha and Omega bosses in Russet Highlands
The region contains two field bosses. Use an Aniipod Ultra to catch them and receive substantial rewards.
- Alpha Rookey — east of First Sight Sanctum, in the arena where the standard Rookey also spawns.
- Omega Infergon — south of the Russet Highlands Bloom, available all day.
Clearing the field spawns, the Highland variants, the weather- and time-locked creatures, and the quest, puzzle, and egg unlocks above rounds out the full roster of 22 Aniimo for the region. Keep a fire Aniimo and a flying mount on your team, since both are needed for the snowball, ruins, and pillar objectives that hide several of these entries.
