Flameruff is the Fire-element DPS that Emberpup grows into, and you do not have to raise one yourself to add it to the Aniilog. Wild Flameruff walk the middle of Nimbus Fields in Breezy Plains, almost always shadowed by a small pack of Emberpups, which makes one trip enough to register both.

Quick answer: Teleport to the Nimbus Fields waypoint in Breezy Plains and follow the central paths. Flameruff patrols the crossroads around (-1221, 0820), with more sightings near (-1171, 0789) and (-1150, 0778).

Flameruff spawn coordinates in Nimbus Fields

Every confirmed sighting sits in the middle band of the region, along the dirt paths that run out from the teleport waypoint. Flameruff does not hide or burrow, so it is visible from a distance once you are on the right trail.

Learn these two pack spots by their landmarks, not by number. In the region’s southern half, look for purple flowers beside a solitary tree. Farther north, follow the dirt path to a location near a fire source. Each pack usually contains one Flameruff surrounded by several Emberpups.

Levels inside a pack are not uniform. Check the level above a creature before you commit an Aniipod, since a low-level Emberpup can be standing next to a much stronger Flameruff.

Flameruff habitats outside Nimbus Fields

Nimbus Fields is the earliest and easiest place to meet one, but it is not the only habitat. The other three areas are all higher-level, so they are only worth the detour if you are already exploring there.

How to catch Flameruff

Open the world map, find Breezy Plains, and select the Nimbus Fields teleport waypoint. Confirm the teleport to drop straight into the region instead of riding across it.

From the arrival point, follow the grassy path leading away from the waypoint toward the centre of the region. The route runs past open field, and the pack coordinates above sit within a short ride of it.

Look within the pup group for the larger Fire creature at its center. If the southern flower patch has nothing, take the dirt path north to the other pack and then circle back — the groups respawn, making it pointless to wait in one location.
Start the encounter and throw Aniipods at the Flameruff. It is a normal wild spawn, not an Alpha, so there is no fight-then-catch window to respect and no special Aniipod requirement.
Catch an Emberpup from the same group while you are there. It registers a separate Aniilog entry and gives you a spare body for the evolution route later.

How to confirm the catch registered

Open the Aniilog and look at the Emberpup family. Flameruff fills the No. 2A slot, and the Basic Form entry flips from blank to filled the moment the capture lands. Alternate forms stay greyed out, which is normal — Highland Flameruff (No. 2B) and Mountain Woods Flameruff (No. 2C) are separate records tied to other regions.

To double-check a spawn point before you travel, select Flameruff in the menu and open Habitats. Every known spawn is pinned on the map as a yellow square, so you can compare the markers against the coordinates above.

Fire Kick leaps to dodge an incoming attack, then slams down with flames around the landing point. A clean dodge pushes the hit to 120% damage and raises your damage by 20% for 20 seconds. Pebble Kick is the same motion with a Rock element, and its successful dodge applies Blockade for 8 seconds, which stops the target swapping Aniimo. Fire Bolt is the ranged option, applying 2 stacks of Fire Debuff for 5 seconds — each stack cuts Fire Resistance by 1%, up to 20 stacks — and you can hold the button to aim.

Its trait, Scorching Flames, adds 25% damage against elementally countered targets. That matters immediately in this region, because the Wind-type Alpha Turbo roaming northeast of the First Spark Sanctum is weak to Fire. For getting around, Flameruff carries the Hustle mobility skill, a sustained sprint that drains stamina while active.

The evolution route from Emberpup

If you would rather raise your own, an Emberpup becomes Flameruff at level 12 once you have cleared Sanctum: First Spark. No evolution stone is needed for this stage. The Sanctum is a solo run inside Nimbus Fields with its entrance around (-1018, 0648), and it hands you a Sanctum-exclusive Emberpup whose Fire Bolt burns vines, lights bonfires, and sets off barrels to open the chest puzzles.

If Evolve stays greyed out on a level 12 Emberpup, First Spark has not been cleared. The Sanctum requirement is checked separately from the level.

From there, Flameruff branches at level 20. Scorchhowl needs a Blaze Stone and a defeated Alpha Scorchhowl; Inferlupa needs Journey: Warrior completed, a Night Stone, and six Unbroken Flameruff Spirit. One Flameruff can only take one path, so keep a second pup around if you want both entries — which is another reason to clear out the Nimbus Fields packs while you are standing in them.
