Albert is a Pathfinder Challenge trainer who waits outside the claw arcade counter in Astra, ready to duel you with a single Wind-type Animo. The fight is short if you bring the right partner and open with a Break, so the whole thing comes down to finding him, checking the level, and hitting the poise meter hard before the timer runs out.

Quick answer: Find Albert on Chill Street near Horizon Square in Astra, then defeat his Lv. 42 Jawling inside the 5:00 limit by breaking it and switching to a burst attacker like Sherro or Infergon.

Where to find Albert in Astra

Albert stands along Chill Street, near Horizon Square in Astra, positioned right outside the claw arcade counter. On the world map his marker sits at roughly -0030, 0434 to -0030, 0436, so you can drop a custom pin there if you want to return to him later. Opening the map and selecting his icon shows the recommended level and the first-clear rewards before you commit.

Victory conditionDefeat all of Albert’s Animo
OpponentLv. 42 Jawling (Wind)

The duel plays out one Animo against one Animo inside a circular arena, and Albert only fields a single Jawling. Because the timer is generous at five minutes, the real pressure is beating the fight cleanly rather than beating the clock.

Albert’s Jawling and how to counter it

Jawling is a Wind-type Animo that leans on two moves. Albert himself points you toward the answer: bring a Sherro or an Infergon to overpower it. A common approach is to open with a durable frontliner such as Grizbo to build poise damage, then swap to a high-damage attacker once Jawling is vulnerable.

Wind Tackle raises Jawling’s damage reduction for a short window, so save your hardest burst for right after it triggers a Break instead of trading into that buff.

How to start and win the duel

Drain Jawling’s remaining health before the 5:00 timer expires to win. With a Break-then-burst rotation, the fight can end with more than four minutes still on the clock.

Rewards and how to confirm the clear

When Jawling goes down, a “Battle Won” notice appears and the game automatically returns you to Astra after three seconds. The first-clear rewards land on the Obtained panel: EXP +300 and 30,000 Gold. Like every Pathfinder Challenge, the clear also contributes a Fragment – Besauce toward the 40 needed to exchange for a Besauce at an Outpost shop.

Once the rewards screen closes and you load back into Astra, Albert stops offering the same duel, which is the clearest sign the challenge is complete. His map marker also updates, so your remaining icons make it easy to track which Pathfinder Challenges you still have left in the region.
