Nox is a Pathfinder challenge tucked away in the Forest of Falling Stars, in the Breezy Plains region of Aniimo. He goes by the title “Little Star of the Night,” and he fights with a two-creature Dark team. The challenge runs at Level 23, and a tougher rematch returns at Level 40.

Quick answer: Field Light-element Aniimo against Nox, dodge Celestis’s Shooting Stars the moment a blue glint flashes, and dash out of Wisptis’s Dark Dash while it holds its charge.

Where to find Nox in the Forest of Falling Stars

Head south from the Forest of Falling Stars Bloom. Nox stands in the shade of a tree beside the stream that runs through the southern part of the zone. A Celestis waits with him, and that Celestis becomes a Stellarys once you clear the challenge for the first time.

Nox’s team and the best counters

Both of Nox’s creatures are Dark element, so Light-element partners give you the cleanest matchup. Celestis is the ranged threat, while Wisptis closes in with charged melee hits.

Any of these counters work well against the pair:

  • Tubster
  • Turbo
  • Somniwing
  • Helgon
  • Helion
  • Lunara

Dodge Celestis’s Shooting Stars and Star Glide

Celestis chips away at your HP with two moves. Shooting Stars is the harder hit of the two, and it telegraphs with a blue glint on Celestis just before it fires. Dodge the instant you see that flash.

Star Glide is much easier to read. Celestis flies overhead and drops stars as it passes, so you have time to move clear of where they land.

Avoid Wisptis’s Dark Dash

Wisptis leans on Dark Dash for most of its damage, and it hits hardest after Wisptis has buffed itself with its other two skills. Watch for the brief charging stance. When you spot it, dash away and break line of sight so the lunge misses.

Nox first-clear rewards

Beating Nox for the first time pays out the following:

RewardQuantity
Safaris300
Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal40
Star Dust3
Fragment – Besauce1
Credit50,000

You will know the challenge is done when the fight ends and these rewards land in your inventory. On that first clear, the Celestis standing with Nox evolves into Stellarys, which confirms you have cleared it for the first time.
