Susuta is the shy, shell-shovel-carrying Water Aniimo that sits at No. 49 in the Aniilog, and it is the entry point to one of the longer branching lines in Aniimo. Everything in the family — Popota, Piopiota, Panpanta, and their Nighttime counterparts — starts with a single catch on one stretch of coast.
Quick answer: Catch Susuta on the western beaches of Echoback Landing, then evolve it at Lv. 29 into Popota and at Lv. 39 into either Piopiota or Panpanta.
Susuta location: Echoback Landing beaches
Susuta spawns in groups along the shoreline on the western side of Echoback Landing, in Breezy Plains. They appear during both Day and Night, and the occasional Popota mixes in with them, so the beach can hand you the second stage without any evolving at all.
Time of day decides which form you are looking at. The standard Susuta (No. 49A) is the daytime catch, while Nighttime Susuta (No. 49B) — the black-furred version with dark circles under its eyes — only shows up on that same beach after dark. Both are Lumin stage, Water element, and fill the Break role.

You will know it worked when the holographic catch card appears on screen, showing No. 049 Susuta with its Lumin Stage badge and Break/Swim tags, along with the EXP you earned. The Aniilog entry unlocks at the same moment, and the new Susuta shows up in your Aniimo management screen holding its shell shovel.

Add to Google Preferences →Hatch a Perfect Potential Susuta from the preregistration egg
Anyone who preregistered for Aniimo received a free Susuta Egg in the in-game mailbox, and it hatches a Perfect Potential Susuta rather than a random one. That makes it a noticeably better base for the rest of the line than anything you will pull off the beach.
To hatch it, claim the egg from your mail, then head to the Outpost or your Homeland and place it in the Hatchinator. It incubates over the course of a few hours, so start it early and go do something else.
Susuta family evolution requirements
The line runs Susuta → Popota → Piopiota or Panpanta, with a parallel Nighttime chain that has stricter conditions. Every Nova stage evolution costs Wave Stone x3.
| Aniimo | Evolves from | Conditions | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Susuta, Lv. 29 | None | None | |
| Popota, Lv. 39 | Opposite-gender Susuta following | Wave Stone x3 | |
| Popota, Lv. 39 | Alpha Panpanta defeated | Wave Stone x3 | |
| Nighttime Popota | Nighttime Susuta, Lv. 29 | Must be Nighttime | None |
| Nighttime Piopiota | Nighttime Popota, Lv. 39 | Nighttime; Energetic and Playful; Susuta following | Wave Stone x3 |
| Nighttime Panpanta | Nighttime Popota, Lv. 39 | Nighttime; Instinctive and Judicious | Wave Stone x3 |
Popota: Lv. 29 with no extra conditions
The Lumin to Gamma step is the easy one. Level a Susuta to Lv. 29 and it evolves into Popota with no items and no side objectives. The Nighttime version adds one restriction — the evolution has to be performed while it is Nighttime in-game.

Piopiota: attract an opposite-gender Susuta
Piopiota is gated behind a small field interaction rather than a fight. Take your Popota back to the Echoback Landing beach and walk up to the wild Susuta there until one changes color and starts trailing behind you. That Susuta is the opposite-gender partner the evolution is checking for.

With the follower in tow, open your Popota’s evolution screen and the Piopiota branch becomes selectable. The Nighttime route is fussier. Nighttime Piopiota also requires a personality containing both Energetic and Playful, and the evolution must happen at night — and it flips the Aniimo to the Dark element rather than Water.
Panpanta: beat the Alpha Panpanta first
The Panpanta branch does not appear on the evolution screen at all until you have defeated the Alpha Panpanta. Once that is done, the branch unlocks permanently and any Susuta or Popota that reaches Lv. 39 can take it.

Nighttime Panpanta follows the same level requirement but checks two other boxes. Your Nighttime Popota needs a personality containing Instinctive and Judicious, and the evolution has to be done during Nighttime.
Because personality is fixed per Aniimo, it is worth checking a Nighttime Susuta’s traits before you sink levels into it. Catching a few spares on one night trip is faster than trying to force the right one later.
Susuta stats, trait, and skills
Both Susuta forms share identical numbers, so the daytime and Nighttime versions perform the same in combat. It is a Break-role Aniimo with a low base total, which is why it ranks toward the bottom overall while still being usable as a Break unit early on.

| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| 81 | |
| 61 | |
| 72 | |
| P.Def | 61 |
| 80 | |
| Regen | 64 |
| Base total | 411 |
Outside of battle, Susuta brings Leisure Lv. 1 and Water Lv. 1 as Homeland abilities, plus Swim Lv. 1 for pathfinding. It has no mobility skill.
Its trait, Appeal, rewards you for keeping the family together. When Susuta enters battle with an opposite-sex Susuta family member in the party, its own BREAK efficiency rises by 30% for 15 seconds, on a 20-second cooldown. Running a caught Susuta alongside an evolved Popota or Panpanta is the simplest way to keep it active.
| Skill | EP cost | Power | Tags |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 74 | Push | |
| Water Cannon | 10 | 39 | Puddle, BREAK |
| Water Cannon (upgraded) | 20 | 65 | Puddle, BREAK |
Water Dash closes the gap and knocks the target back, while Water Cannon lobs a water ball for AoE damage and leaves a puddle behind — useful because some Wind-element skills elsewhere in the roster consume puddles for bonus damage. Its innate ATK is a physical, melee Water attack that builds Break at close range.
Once the Aniilog card pops for No. 49A and No. 49B and both branches are unlocked, the rest of the family is just levelling. Keep one spare Susuta on the roster rather than releasing it, since both the Piopiota evolution and the Appeal trait need a second family member to work.
