Alpha Tubster is the Wind-element Alpha boss that holds a fixed spot on the coast of The Argent Strait, in the Breezy Plains region. There is no prerequisite to start the fight, it spawns all day, and it comes back roughly 20 seconds after it is cleared. Beating it is also the gate that lets Chirpi evolve into Tubster.
Quick answer: Find Alpha Tubster on the shore southwest of First Spark Sanctum in The Argent Strait, hit it with Electric or Light attacks, break its Storm Shield, then catch it with an Aniipod Ultra for a 100% rate.

Alpha Tubster location in The Argent Strait
The marker sits at map coordinates -1139, 0575, on the middle of a beach southwest of First Spark Sanctum. The nearest fast-travel point is the transporter in The Argent Strait, so warp in and travel on foot from there. The surrounding area runs around level 29 to 33, and the fight itself is tuned for roughly level 30, so it is worth arriving at level 30 or higher.

Getting down to the shore means dropping off a cliff. Bring a flying Aniimo and glide into the sand instead of falling, which avoids the drop damage and lets you open on the boss with full health.

Add to Google Preferences →Alpha Tubster weaknesses and element matchups
Alpha Tubster is Wind, which makes the matchup simple. Electric and Light hit for extra damage, while Wind and Dark are heavily reduced. Electric is the strongest pick overall because those Aniimo also shrug off most of what the boss throws back at you.
| Attacking element | Damage multiplier |
|---|---|
| 1.6× | |
| Light | 1.6× |
| Fire, Water, Grass, Ice, Earth | 1× |
| 0.625× | |
| 0.625× |
For damage, Fulmintis and Fenmane are the strongest Electric options, with Fentuft as the easy-to-obtain fallback. Blazen is the standout breaker for cracking the boss’s guard, with Bolty as a more accessible alternative. On support duty, Tromber and Eklue resist its Wind attacks outright, while Luminelle and Dazmand bring Electric coverage alongside their healing and buffs. A workable party built entirely from easier catches is Fentuft, Blazen, Eklue, and Fenmane.
Alpha Tubster attack patterns and how to dodge them
Warning areas appear on the ground before each attack lands, so read the floor rather than the animation. Two patterns make up most of the fight.
- Tornadoes: it fires a run of vortexes forward from its front, each with a red path drawn on the sand. Thread the gaps between the lines or circle around to its back.
- Music Blast: a series of sound blasts in front of it. Keep strafing sideways or simply stay outside the cone.
Taking several tornadoes back to back will chunk a large portion of your health, so break the pattern early instead of trying to tank through it.

How to break the Storm Shield phase
Partway through the fight, Alpha Tubster plants itself, wraps up in a large shield, and starts charging. A prompt appears telling you to destroy the shield and interrupt the cast. Do it and the boss drops straight into the Weakened state, which is your best damage window of the fight.
While it charges you get pulled toward it, so dump skills and heavy attacks into the shield rather than repositioning. If the shield survives the cast, sprint clear before it finishes to avoid the wind blast that goes off at the end.

The same BREAK rules that apply to every Alpha and Omega apply here. Once the boss leaves BREAK it enters BREAK Recovery until its gauge refills, and it takes greatly increased damage during both states. Breaking that shield also ticks off the Aniimopedia field note “Wounded Pride.”
How to catch Alpha Tubster and Aniipod catch rates
Once its health is gone, the Catch Alpha prompt appears and a countdown starts. You get exactly one attempt, and the throw costs 30 Primegy on top of the Aniipod itself. Pick the best pod you own, because the rate difference is enormous.
| Aniipod | Catch rate |
|---|---|
| Aniipod (free) | 6.6% |
| 13% | |
| 13% | |
| 13% | |
| 100% | |
| 100% |
You cannot throw a pod while Twined, so drop out of Twining before the boss goes down. If the catch lands, the Alpha joins your roster with its skills already enhanced, which is the main reason to spend an Ultra here rather than save it.

Alpha Tubster rewards and what the win unlocks
Clearing the fight opens an Alpha Chest, and the first clear pays out a one-time bundle on top of the usual material drops.

| First clear reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal | 60 |
| Glimmer | 50 |
| Safaris | 500 |
| 1 | |
| Lumin Amber: Breezy Plains | 1 |
Repeat runs drop Aniipod Mega and more Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal. Spending Primegy after the kill also pulls ascension and evolution materials from the fight.
The bigger prize is progression. Defeating Alpha Tubster unlocks the Tubster entry in your Aniilog and satisfies one of the three requirements to evolve Chirpi. The other two are a level 18 Chirpi with BREAK Potential of 6 or higher, plus three Gust Stones for the evolution cost. The fight also clears the Elite Training objective “Alpha Antagonist.”
You will know everything went through when the Alpha Chest appears, the Aniilog entry for Tubster stops showing as locked, and the Chirpi evolution screen lists the “Defeat Alpha Tubster” requirement as met. If the catch also landed, Alpha Tubster shows up in your roster as a Wind Break unit with its core skill already enhanced, and with the 20-second respawn you can be back on the same beach farming Dewdrop Crystals almost immediately.
