The latest wave of changes to Animal Hospital on Roblox layers new story content on top of the night-shift horror loop. It adds a Dr. Harlow event, fresh lore, a weather-based shift twist, quality-of-life fixes like a Reconnect button, and a batch of new staff skins.

Quick answer: The update introduces a Dr. Harlow event and secret interaction, a new species that arrives when it starts raining on Shift 3 and up, a renamed “Skip Tutorial (Fast Start)” option, a Reconnect button for dropped players, new skins for the Nurse, Secretary, Head Nurse, and Psychologist, a hidden Easter Egg, and a weekly leaderboard.

The rain shift and the new species

Once you reach Shift 3 or higher, weather becomes a trigger. When rain starts during a run, a new type of species begins showing up among your arrivals. Treat it as a signal to tighten your desk checks, since the extra arrivals stack more pressure on your usual desk, photo, and camera routine.

Fast Start replaces Skip Doctor Dialogue

The old “Skip Doctor Dialogue” toggle is gone, swapped for “Skip Tutorial (Fast Start).” Turning it on drops you into Shift 1 already carrying every tutorial unlock, but with the difficulty and chaos of Shift 4. It is built for players who know the loop and want to skip the slow opening shifts.

Note: because Fast Start front-loads the pressure, keep Sanity items ready before you enable it. The early cushion of a normal Shift 1 disappears.

Reconnect button for dropped runs

Disconnects no longer force you to abandon a session. If you drop out during a run with other players, a Reconnect button lets you jump back into the same shift. This matters most on hard, late-game shifts where losing one desk operator can sink the whole team.

Dr. Harlow event and secret interaction

Dr. Harlow now anchors his own event and a hidden interaction. If you want the Journal reward tied to him, his favorite drink is Mint Tea. Buy one from the Supplies Shop when it is available and hand it to him to clear his entry for 25 Animal Coins.

Liz and the UV camera reward

The update extends the questline for Liz, a journalist NPC also known as Lisbeth. She can appear at the reception area once you reach Shift 10, and she asks for help gathering evidence about the anomaly outbreak using her UV camera.

Talk to Liz when she arrives. She will name a specific patient and set her UV camera near the check-in area.
Wait for that exact named patient to arrive, then use the camera to photograph only them. Do not photograph anyone else, or Liz gets angry and never returns, which locks you out of the reward and her final Journal entry.
Repeat this across her return visits. After you correctly photograph the third patient she asks for, she leaves a Chocolate Bar at the check-in area.

The Chocolate Bar restores +20% Sanity, making it a stronger version of Coffee. It normally costs 29 Robux at the check-in area or $120 in-game currency at the Supply Shop, so earning it from Liz saves you a purchase.

Skins, leaderboard, and the Easter Egg

Four staff roles pick up new cosmetics in this patch: the Nurse, Secretary, Head Nurse, and Psychologist. A weekly leaderboard also arrives, tracking performance on a rolling reset. On top of that, a new Easter Egg is hidden somewhere in the hospital for players who like to poke around outside the standard shift loop.

Taken together, the changes push the game further into its anomaly-outbreak story while smoothing out multiplayer sessions. The rain shift and Fast Start give experienced players harder runs to chase, and Liz’s camera quest ties the new lore directly to a reward you can carry into future shifts.
