The Maki moveset is the newest character ability in Anime Ability Arena, a fast arena fighter where you earn Yen by defeating other players and spend it on new movesets. Maki, shown in-game as the Mako moveset, is built around a target-locked teleport and a spinning attack that can throw opponents off the map. It leans toward hunting and finishing, not defense.
Quick answer: Buy Maki for 4,500 Yen in the lobby and equip it, then use E (Phase Slam) to teleport onto the nearest player and R (Unleash) to spin them toward the void. The full combo deals 50 total damage.

How to unlock the Maki moveset
Maki costs 4,500 Yen, which you earn by fighting and defeating players in the arena. Purchase and equip it from the lobby before a match. Once it is active, you will see the confirmation “Successfully Equipped the Mako Moveset!” and the moveset’s four actions appear in your ability bar.

The moveset uses a sword with a large hitbox and has four inputs. The table below lists each one and what it does.
| Input | Ability | Function |
|---|---|---|
| M1 | Swing | Basic sword attack with a wide hitbox. |
| Q | Dash | Quick movement to close or reposition. |
| E | Phase Slam | Teleports you to the nearest player on flat ground. |
| R | Unleash | Spinning attack that grants knockback immunity and can push targets into the void. |
E Phase Slam: teleport rules
Phase Slam is an auto-target teleport, not a free-aim dash. When you press E, it moves you to the nearest player, so you cannot pick a direction or a specific enemy. It only works on flat ground, which means you cannot teleport upward to reach players on stairs or higher terrain, and the reach is short rather than long-range.
Because it always pulls you toward a player, you cannot use it to escape. If you are low on health, running with E will drag you back into a fight instead of away from one. Treat it as an approach tool for reaching a nearby target quickly.

R Unleash: void kills and immunity
Unleash is a spinning attack similar in concept to the Luffy-style moves in the game. The damage is low, but its value is displacement. It can carry an opponent toward the edge and push them into the void for an instant elimination, regardless of their remaining health.
While Unleash is active, you gain knockback immunity, so enemies cannot interrupt the spin by knocking you away. You also keep walking during the animation, which lets you steer the target toward a ledge as the attack runs.

Damage, combos, and best use
The full Maki combo deals 50 total damage, so it will not burst down a healthy opponent on its own. Its strength is chasing and finishing rather than out-trading. Because Phase Slam locks onto the nearest player, the moveset is best against targets who are already low on health.

You will know it worked when the target is knocked off the map and eliminated, or when their health reaches zero from the combo. The main failure cases are predictable. The teleport does nothing useful on uneven or vertical terrain, and it can pull you into a stronger, full-health player if that opponent is the nearest one when you press E.
For its price, Maki offers strong chase pressure and reliable finishing, which is why it earns a 9/10 in showcase testing. Keep it for hunting weakened players and closing out fights near ledges, and pair it with map awareness so Phase Slam always drops you onto the right target.
