Anime Cardverse is an upcoming anime-inspired action RPG on Roblox that flips the usual card-game formula. Instead of collecting cards for turn-based play, the cards you pull from banners become active combat abilities that slot straight onto your hotbar. Early gameplay shows a hub-and-worlds structure, gacha summoning, and hand-drawn card art driving a fast, skill-based combat loop.
Quick answer: Cards in Anime Cardverse are powers, not collectibles. You summon them at an NPC, equip up to five to your hotbar slots, and use them as attacks across open worlds, wave-based missions, and timed challenges.
How cards work as powers
The core idea is simple. Every card is a usable skill. When you draw an ability like Light Shower or Quake, it goes into your Powers inventory, and you assign it to one of five hotbar slots labeled 1 through 5. Some slots stay locked until you level up, with slot 2 opening at level 3, slot 3 at level 10, and slot 4 at level 20.
Powers carry combat stats rather than flavor text. Each one lists a cooldown, a penetration percentage, and a damage value. Quake, for example, deals 412 damage with a 15.4-second cooldown and 50% penetration, while the rare Gum Pistol sits far lower at 30.9 damage. Higher rarity generally means stronger numbers and longer cooldowns.

Summoning happens at the NPC Polnareffini in the summon room. You spend Gems to roll on the Standard Powers banner, at 50 Gems for a single pull or 500 Gems for a 10x pull. The index lays out the rarity spread clearly, and it heavily favors common results.

| Rarity | Drop rate |
|---|---|
| Rare | 72.49% |
| Epic | 25% |
| Legendary | 2% |
| Mythic | 0.5% |
| Secret | 0.01% |
The rarest tier, Secret, is where the standout cards live. Catastrophe Moon is one such Secret power, hitting for 1,560 damage on a 24-second cooldown. Recognizable anime-inspired abilities also appear across the tiers, including Rasengan, Ki Blast, Kamehameha, and Black Flash.
Card art and equipping abilities
One detail that sets the game apart is its artwork. The card illustrations are hand-drawn rather than AI-generated, which gives the roster a consistent visual style. After a pull, you review your new cards in the Powers inventory and equip the ones you want to fight with.

Ascensions and Evolutions
Two separate NPCs handle card upgrades. At Wish, you perform Ascensions by feeding duplicate copies of the same card. Ascension I grants a 10% damage boost, Ascension II raises that to 20%, and Ascension III reaches 30%.
Evolutions run through the NPC Moodaru. These require the base card plus materials such as Star Fruits and Coins. Evolving a skill increases its base damage and penetration and can unlock passives, including Logia-style effects that add evasion and walk speed.
Weapons banner and melee attacks
Weapons are pulled from a separate Standard Weapons banner, also at Polnareffini, for 50 Gems per single roll or 500 Gems for 10x. The catch is that the weapons banner stays locked until you progress into World 2. Weapons handle your basic melee attacks and add stat boosts to damage, HP, and penetration.
The rare Nichirin sword is an early option, while a 10x pull can land the Mythic Sound Cleavers, which carry 38.3 damage, 121 HP, and 15.2% penetration on a 12.1-second cooldown. Other blades in the pool include Yuri, Kamish Daggers, Cloud Cutter, Soul Katana, and Shark Blade.
Game modes: Worlds, Missions, and Challenges
Content is split across three modes, each with a different feel to combat.
- Worlds are open-world zones where you take linear NPC quests to defeat set numbers of enemies. Mobs here stay near their spawn points and do not fight back aggressively.
- Missions are instanced, wave-based dungeons split into Acts 1 through 4 with Normal and Hard difficulties, and their enemies actively chase and attack.
- Challenges add timed Regular, Daily, and Weekly variants against high-health enemies that regenerate quickly.
In the open world, Alien Scouts are passive; in the Regular Challenge for Nemu’s Village Act 1, they have 4,000 HP and regenerate quickly, making them much tougher.
The three worlds and their themes
| World | Name | Theme | Unlock requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Nemu’s Village | Desert | Available from start |
| 2 | Hollow World | Bleach | Complete Nemu’s questline |
| 3 | Demon Citadel | Solo Leveling | Complete Kisky’s questline |
World 1, Nemu’s Village, is the desert starting zone. You accept quests from NPC Nemu, then defeat Alien Scouts and the Alien Officers for Coins, Souls, and XP.

Combat in the open world revolves around clearing quest targets. Equipping a weapon like the Nichirin sword gives you a basic melee attack to chain between power cooldowns while you thin out Alien Officers across the map.

The zone caps off with a miniboss. Hunting down and defeating Captain Shinyu completes the fifth Nemu quest and unlocks progression toward World 2.

World 2, Hollow World, is a Bleach-themed wasteland where the NPC Kisky hands out quests, such as defeating Grants enemies. World 3, Demon Citadel, draws on Solo Leveling and adds Goblins and Goblin Shamans, with quests given by Sang Woo.

Currencies and the travelling merchant
Three currencies run the economy: Coins, Gems, and Souls. Gems fuel the summon banners, while Coins and Souls cover most other purchases. A travelling merchant named Bob E.O appears in the worlds and sells upgrade materials and mounts in limited stock.
| Item | Price | Stock |
|---|---|---|
| Pure Cloud (mount, Speed 40) | 10,000 Coins | 1 left |
| Souls | 50 Coins | 5 left |
| Trait Rerolls | 5,000 Coins | 1 left |
| Weapon Rerolls | 5,000 Coins | 5 left |
| Stat Cubes | 7,500 Coins | 14 left |
| Star Fruit (Pink/Yellow) | 7,500 Coins | 5 left each |
Star Fruits are worth noting because they double as Evolution materials at Moodaru, so the merchant is one way to gather what you need to upgrade cards.
Release status
The game is still in development and being previewed ahead of launch. The developers shared their first gameplay teaser in mid-September 2026 through the official account, crediting the team behind Polnareffini Studios.
No official release date or time has been confirmed yet. Updates and news are posted through the game’s official channels, including its Roblox community group and its Discord server. Until a firm launch date is announced, the strongest impressions come from the graphics, maps, and hand-drawn card art, with the open-world enemy behavior flagged as the main area still being refined before release.
