The complete trait list with roll chances, plus the exact reroll flow and which traits are worth keeping.

Traits in Anime Origins are permanent stat modifiers attached to your units, and they can decide how much damage a unit deals, how fast it attacks, and how far it reaches. Every unit can hold two traits, but only one is active at a time, so the trait you keep matters as much as the trait you roll.

Quick answer: Open the Areas button on the right menu, pick Trait Reroll, walk up to the NPC, select a unit, and press Reroll. Each roll consumes one Trait Reroll, so stop the moment a unit lands a trait that fits its role.

Every Anime Origins trait, boost, and roll chance

Traits are grouped by rarity, and the rarity tells you how hard a trait is to land. Rare rolls give small single-stat boosts, while Epic, Legendary, and Mythic traits stack multiple stats or add unique combat effects. The Secret-tier Immortal trait is a special case with a placement limit and a one-time match effect.

How to reroll traits in Anime Origins

Rerolling replaces a unit’s current trait with a random one from the pool above. You earn Trait Rerolls by playing through the game, completing quests, and redeeming active Anime Origins codes. Once you have some in stock, the process takes only a few clicks.

Open the Areas button from the right-side menu, then select the Trait Reroll option and walk up to the NPC in that area.

Choose the unit you want to modify, then press the Reroll button to spend one Trait Reroll and generate a new trait for that unit.

Check the result before rolling again. A unit can hold two traits, but only one stays active, so set the trait you want as the active one and keep it once it matches the unit’s job.

Note: Trait Rerolls take time to accumulate, so avoid rolling on filler units you plan to replace. The safest spend is a unit that already clears waves or handles bosses for you.

Best traits ranked by combat value

Traits with strong Damage and Cooldown boosts carry the most value, while Income, EXP, and Range-only traits are situational. The ranking below reflects raw stat output and the extra effects each trait brings.

TierTraits
S+Immortal, Ascendant, Overseer
SRupture, Stride, Decay
AAce, Head Hunter, Fury III, Haste III
BHustler, Hawkeye, Scholar, Fury II, Haste II, Reach III
CFury I, Haste I, Reach II

Immortal, Ascendant, and Overseer are the top targets thanks to their large Damage boosts and added effects. Rupture and Stride are strong on damage-focused units when their crit or Tempo mechanics line up with how the unit attacks. If you want a reliable all-around roll, Ace stands out because it delivers Damage, Cooldown, and Range together.

When to reroll and when to stop

Only reroll a unit that already holds a useful trait if you are specifically chasing a stronger one that better fits its role. If a unit is already carrying a solid trait, hold your Trait Rerolls for a unit that needs the upgrade more. Immortal is the strongest option overall because it pairs a massive Damage boost with Cooldown, Range, and Income gains, though its one-per-team placement limit means you build around a single unit rather than stacking it.
