Update 1 turns Anime Origins into a Re:Zero crossover for the moment. Seven new units land across the banner, battle pass, tournament and event tracks, a limited tower mode called the Pleiadys Tower drops into the lobby, and a new Legend stage becomes the farm spot for late-game evolution materials. Two mechanics change how a run actually plays: a timed parry that protects your stocks, and a Return by Death rule that rewinds waves instead of ending the match.
Quick answer: Enter the Pleiadys Tower from the lobby, clear stage A1 of Aguriya Sand Dunes to earn Scorpion Tokens, then spend those tokens at Shali’s Stash on Blessings that cancel the sin seals blocking A2 and beyond.
Every new unit in Update 1 and where it comes from
All seven additions are locked behind a different system, so there is no single place to grind for them. The banner covers the headline mythics, while the rest are tied to progression tracks that run on their own timers.
| Unit | Source |
|---|---|
| Emmy | Summon banner |
| Jolius | Summon banner |
| Sobaru & Beti | Summon banner |
| Prisla | Battle pass |
| Rainu Marto | Update 1 content |
| Shali | Pleiadys Tower Event |
| Kenshen | Tournament reward |
Shiny models also expanded with the patch, and a Shiny Transfer option now lets you move a shiny version onto a different unit instead of rerolling for it.

How the Pleiadys Tower Event works
The tower is a stage ladder rather than a single fight. It opens at Aguriya Sand Dunes with stage A1, and later floors move into areas like Sword Saint’s Garden. Progress through the ladder is gated by the Scorpion’s Key, so you cannot skip ahead to a floor you have not unlocked.

Note: a difficulty patch followed the tower’s release and adjusted enemy health regen along with in-match currency drops, so runs behave differently from the launch build of the event.
Seals and Blessings: the tower’s debuff system
Each tower floor beyond the opener stacks debuffs named after the seven deadly sins. Stage A2, for example, applies Gluttony and Greed together, which is the most common reason a first attempt fails despite a working team. Blessings purchased from Shali’s Stash are the intended counter.
| Seals in the tower | Blessings at Shali’s Stash |
|---|---|
| Gluttony, Greed, Envy | Charity, Temperance, Restraint |
| Wrath, Lust, Pride | Contentment, Humility, Love |
| Sloth | Diligence |
Because Blessings cost Scorpion Tokens, and tokens come from clearing floors, the event rewards repeating a floor you can already beat before pushing into one you cannot.
The parry quick-time event and Return by Death
Mid-run, an “Incoming Attack” prompt appears on screen with a timing bar. This is the Hell Snipe mechanic. Click inside the circle while the timing window is open and the attack is parried; miss it and you lose a stock. A short tutorial fires the first time you meet it, but it repeats on later waves with no warning.

Running out of stocks inside the tower does not immediately end the attempt. Return by Death rewinds you a few waves and restarts from there, which means a botched parry costs progress rather than the whole run. Outside the tower, standard loss rules still apply.
Library of the Dead Afterdark and evolving Sobaru & Beti
Update 1 adds Library of the Dead Afterdark to the Story menu, and its Legend difficulty is where the new evolution materials live. Evolving Sobaru & Beti requires the Book of Wisdom plus PLD-2 artifacts, both of which come out of that Legend stage. PLD-1 sits alongside it in the same artifact family.
Check the evolution panel on the unit itself before farming. It lists the exact material counts, and the requirement updates in place as items are collected, which is the clearest confirmation that a Legend run actually dropped what you needed.
Quality-of-life changes worth switching on
Several settings added in this patch cut down on clicking during long farm sessions. Auto-Upgrade on Placement levels a unit as soon as it is placed, and Auto-Ability fires unit abilities without manual input. Rifts are now replayable rather than one-and-done, and a Party System lets you group up before entering a mode.

Update 1 codes for Scorpion Tokens and rerolls
A batch of codes went out alongside the patch and the tower fixes that followed. Redeem them from the Codes button in the right-hand menu inside Anime Origins. Account level 10 is required for redemption, and codes are case-sensitive, so type them exactly as written.
| Code | Reward |
|---|---|
| TowerFixed | 2,000 Gems, 30 Trait Rerolls, 65 Scorpion Tokens |
| RBD! | 2,000 Gold, 10 Azure Remnants, 5 Violet Remnants |
| AuraMonster | 1,111 Gems, 11 Trait Rerolls, 11 Stat Prisms |
| Update1 | 10 Trait Rerolls, 10 Perfect Stat Prisms, 10 Stat Prisms |
A code that returns an error is usually a spacing or capitalization problem. Rewards appear in your inventory immediately on a successful redeem, with no restart needed.
The tower is the part of Update 1 most likely to keep shifting, since the difficulty pass already moved health regen and drop rates once. Clear A1 for tokens, buy the Blessings that match the seals on the floor you are stuck on, and keep the Book of Wisdom farm running in Library of the Dead Afterdark while the event is live.
