Every craftable item, its materials, gold cost, stat boosts, and the set bonuses worth building toward.

Gear is what carries your squad through the hardest stages in Anime Squadron once strong units and good trait rolls stop being enough. Each piece adds stat boosts, and matching pieces from the same set unlock extra effects that can swing a fight. One Secret item even skips stats entirely and unlocks a unit awakening instead.

Quick answer: Craft gear at the Crafting NPC inside the Upgrades area. Pick a recipe, confirm you have the gold and the listed materials in your inventory, then press Craft. Materials drop from specific Story Act ranges across Leaf Village, GT City, and Marine Lobby, with higher rarities pulling from later Acts.

How gear crafting works in Anime Squadron

Crafting takes place at the Crafting NPC, who is modeled after Madara and stands inside the Upgrades zone near the Awakening NPC. Every recipe costs Gold plus a mix of materials, and rarer gear demands more Gold and harder-to-farm ingredients.

Gear comes in five rarities. Rare, Epic, and Legendary pieces give scaling stat boosts. Mythic pieces give the strongest boosts and activate a set bonus from a single equipped piece. The lone Secret item, the Monarch Daggers, exists to awaken a unit rather than to raise stats.

Stats are shown as a base value scaling up to an upgraded value. Abbreviations follow the in-game labels: CRT is critical hit, CRT DMG is critical damage, DMG is damage, RNG is range, ACC is accuracy, SPD is speed, DEF is defense, HP is health, CD is cooldown, and ABL CD is ability cooldown.

Mythic gear recipes (Puppeteer, Hogyoku, Devil)

Every Mythic piece costs 2,500 Gold and uses Act 7-8 materials. Each one activates its set bonus from a single equipped piece, so you do not need to stack a full set to get value.

Secret gear recipe (Monarch Daggers)

The Monarch Daggers are the most expensive craft in the game at 5,000 Gold, and they pull Act 9-10 materials from all three worlds. The item gives no stat boost. Its only purpose is to awaken the Woo unit, so build it only once Woo is on your roster.

Where to farm crafting materials

Every material drops from Story Acts, and the world you farm decides which ingredient you get. Each rarity tier maps to a fixed Act range, so match your farming spot to the gear tier you want. The exact amount of each material shifts per recipe, so check the quantity in the recipe before committing to a run.

TierActsMaterials and worlds
Rare1-2Currentbinder Rope (Marine Lobby), Zenkai Ore (GT City), Shinobi Bone (Leaf Village)
Epic3-4Depthglass Bottle (Marine Lobby), Binding Cloth (Leaf Village), Ki Resonant Crystal (GT City)
Legendary5-6Genjutsu Fog Vial (Leaf Village), Stormwake Sailcloth (Marine Lobby), Stellar Ki Quartz (GT City)
Mythic7-8Fuin Script Paper (Leaf Village), Limitbreak Obsidian (GT City), Beastblood Catalyst (Marine Lobby)
Secret9-10Eclipse Godstone (GT City), Chakra Fragment (Leaf Village), King’s Haki Residue (Marine Lobby)

Note: Build Legendary pieces before chasing Mythic materials. The boost from a full Ninja set helps you clear Acts 5-6, and that extra power makes the jump into Acts 7-8 manageable when you start farming Mythic ingredients. These same materials also feed unit awakenings, so it pays to hoard spares by re-running specific Acts.

Gear set bonuses in Anime Squadron

Set bonuses are the main reason to commit to a theme. A single Mythic piece is enough to switch on its bonus. For Rare, Epic, and Legendary gear, you need any two pieces from the same set. You can mix sets if individual stats suit a unit better, since two matching pieces already unlock the effect.

SetPieces neededBonus
Dragon GiAny 2 of Saiyan Hat, Saiyan Shoes, Saiyan Gi+5% RNG and +5% DMG
PirateAny 2 of Pirate Sandals, Pirate Shirt, Pirate Straw Hat-5% CD, plus +2.5% DMG every 10s (max +10% DMG)
NinjaAny 2 of Ninja Hoodie, Ninja Shoes, Ninja Headband+5% DMG, plus +3% RNG per hit taken (max +15% RNG)
PuppeteerPuppeteer Pants, Coat, Hair+1% DMG and DEF per hit taken (max +30%)
Hogyoku1 Hogyoku-7.5% Cooldown
Devil Amulet1 Devil Amulet+10% Crit Chance
Devil Sword1 Devil Sword+5% DMG per crit for 5s (max +15% DMG)

For mid-game progression, the Ninja set is the best value from Legendary gear because its bonus grows the longer a fight lasts. At endgame, the Devil Amulet pairs naturally with the Devil Sword, since the flat +10% Crit Chance feeds the sword’s stacking damage. The Hogyoku set is the pick for ability-heavy carries thanks to its flat cooldown cut. Redeeming current codes before you craft gives you free Gold, which softens the cost of building several pieces at once.
