Update 2.5 is the version of Anime Stars that finally gives your Heroes a second layer of progression. The headline addition is Hero Passives, a system you buy once and then feed with shards, but the patch also drops a rotating merchant in the Lobby, extra Dragon Wishes, three more Reaper Trial ranks, and five new rankups. Two codes went out alongside it.
Quick answer: Teleport to the Lobby, talk to the Hero Passives mentor, and pay 150 billion coins to unlock the system. Then open the shop, scroll to the bottom, and redeem 8KLIKES and UPDATE2.5.
What Update 2.5 adds in Anime Stars
| Addition | Details |
|---|---|
| Hero Passives | Unlocked from a mentor in the Lobby for 150 billion coins. Passives are rolled onto Heroes using Hero Passive Shards, split across tiers with different stat values. |
| Hero Passive Shards | Drop from several game modes. In Dragon Raid on Hard, the drop rate is 0.4%. |
| Shard Merchant | New Lobby vendor. Stock rotates every 30 minutes and is bought with Merchant Shards. |
| Dragon Wishes | Adds a “+1 Concurrent Roll” wish. The Osno Mount is also claimable here. |
| Reaper Trials | Three new ranks: Royal Guard, Guard Commander, and Soul King. |
| Rankups | Five new rankups, extending progression past the previous cap (for example, Rankup 28 to 29). |
| Guilds | The guild browser now shows guilds close to your power level, and the boost panel lists active teammate power bonuses. |

Add to Google Preferences →How to unlock Hero Passives (150 billion coins)
Hero Passives are gated behind a single one-time purchase, and the mentor who sells access does not appear inside the combat worlds. You need to be standing in the Lobby before any of it becomes available.

Note: the unlock is account-wide, not per Hero. You only pay the 150 billion once, and every roll after that costs shards instead of coins.
Where Hero Passive Shards drop
Shards are spread across multiple modes rather than locked to one activity, so ordinary farming will slowly build a stock. Dragon Raid is the one with a confirmed number attached to it. On Hard difficulty, Hero Passive Shards drop at a 0.4% rate, which makes it a long grind rather than a quick top-up.
Because the rate is that low, treat raid shards as a bonus on top of your normal raid rewards instead of the main way you fund rolls. Rolling repeatedly on a single Hero will burn through a stack faster than you can farm it back.
Shard Merchant: rotating stock every 30 minutes
The Shard Merchant stands in the Lobby and sells from a stock that refreshes on a 30 minute cycle. Purchases are made with Merchant Shards, a separate currency from the shards used for passive rolls, so check which one an item is asking for before you commit.
Because the rotation is short, it is worth glancing at the merchant each time you pass through the Lobby between runs rather than saving up for one big visit. Anything you skip may not be there when the timer flips.
Dragon Wishes, the Osno Mount, and new Reaper Trial ranks
Dragon Wishes picks up a “+1 Concurrent Roll” option, which raises how many rolls you can have running at once. The Osno Mount is also claimed through the wish menu, so it does not require a separate unlock elsewhere in the game.
Reaper Trials gains three ranks at the top end, in order: Royal Guard, Guard Commander, and Soul King. Alongside that, five new rankups extend general progression, so accounts that were previously stuck at the ceiling can push through Rankup 28 into 29 and beyond. Guild play changes are smaller but useful, with the browser now surfacing guilds near your own power level and the boost panel showing the power bonuses your teammates are currently contributing.
Anime Stars Update 2.5 codes and how to redeem them
Two codes shipped with the patch. Codes in this game are case sensitive, so type them exactly as written.
| Code | Notes |
|---|---|
8KLIKES | Like milestone reward, redeemable in the shop’s code box |
UPDATE2.5 | Patch code released with Update 2.5 |
You will know it worked because the rewards are handed to your account one item at a time immediately after you confirm, and a used code will not pay out a second time on the same account.
Why a code is not working
- Capitalization or a typo. Copying and pasting avoids both.
- Already claimed. Each code redeems once per account.
- Expired. Codes can be pulled without notice, and milestone codes tend to be replaced quickly.
- Old server. A freshly released code may not register until you rejoin, which puts you on an updated server.
If you are working through Update 2.5 in order, the cleanest route is to redeem both codes first, bank the free potions and summons, then spend your coins on the Hero Passives unlock before starting the shard grind.
