ARC Raiders Clean Hands Walkthrough: Find the Equatorial Sundial

Retrieve the Equatorial Sundial beneath the Railyard, raise it atop the Old Town church, and extract to finish the Nomads' opening job on Pendola Pass.

Retrieve the Equatorial Sundial beneath the Railyard, raise it atop the Old Town church, and extract to finish the Nomads’ opening job on Pendola Pass.

Clean Hands is the Nomadic Envoy’s first assignment, and it drops you straight onto Pendola Pass with the Frozen Trail update. The job is short on paper but unforgiving in practice: you recover a quest item, carry it to a rooftop, and extract with it still in your bags. Every objective has to land inside a single raid.

Quick answer: In one round, search the duffle bag at the Nomad Camp below the Railyard for the Equatorial Sundial, hold it up on the Old Town church roof, then extract and hand it to the Nomadic Envoy in Speranza.

Requirements before you start Clean Hands

You accept Clean Hands from the Nomadic Envoy, which means Pendola Pass needs to be open already. The map unlocks once you have played 25 rounds, and it sits at difficulty 3 of 5. Snow is the first hazard here. A blizzard can roll in and chip away at your health while you cross open ground, so pack accordingly.

The whole quest resets if you lose the Equatorial Sundial before extracting. That single rule shapes what you carry in.

  • An augment fitted with a safe pocket, so the Sundial survives if you die
  • Healing items to counter the blizzard damage out in the open
  • At least one reliable weapon for raider and ARC encounters, including a Bully ARC that can chase you across the snow

Recover the Equatorial Sundial from the Nomad Camp

The Railyard sits near the center of Pendola Pass, south of the Controlled Receiving Facility. The Nomad Camp is tucked directly underground beneath it, and ARC activity down there tends to be light.

Travel to the Railyard point of interest. Check the wall along its lower edge for a pair of large, circular half-arch openings and pass through one of them. A tunnel on the west side also leads into the subterranean level, and in some raids an iced-over doorway needs a melee hit to break open.
Follow the catwalks inward until you reach the open clearing at the center. Arriving here completes the “Find the Nomad Camp under the Railyard” objective.
Look on the ground near the covered cot, the wooden crates, and the two metal fuel barrels for a quest-marked duffle bag. Search it and pick up the Equatorial Sundial that spawns out of it. It is a rare trinket weighing 0.3.

Open your inventory right away and move the Equatorial Sundial into your safe pocket. If you die with it sitting in your regular bags, it is gone, and you will have to come back for it in a fresh raid.

Raise the Sundial on the Old Town church tower

The Envoy wants the Sundial taken somewhere high and open so the air can speed along its cleansing. That spot is the church in Old Town, west of the Railyard, easy to pick out thanks to its tall steeple standing over the ruined streets.

Head west from the Railyard to the Old Town point of interest. The church is the standout structure among the old-world houses.
Enter through the north doorway or any gap in the broken walls. Turn to find the spiral staircase and climb several flights until you reach a vertical zipline. Ride it to the top of the tower. If your run has the grappling hook, you can also pull up through the collapsed archways to the upper walkway.
On the rooftop balcony, beside the torn green banner, interact with the railing to hold the Equatorial Sundial aloft and take readings. The objective then flips to “Deliver the Equatorial Sundial to the Nomadic Envoy.”

Once the objective updates, confirm the Sundial is back in your safe pocket before you climb down. It still has to survive extraction.

Extract and deliver to the Nomadic Envoy

Grab any loot you want on the way down, then make for an exit with the Sundial on you. A Gondola point is one straightforward option. Clear out of Pendola Pass, return to Speranza, and hand the item to the Nomadic Envoy to close out the quest.

You know it worked when the turn-in registers and the Envoy’s dialogue acknowledges the favor:

Good. You have done for us what we could not do ourselves. Such a debt is not lightly regarded.

Clearing Clean Hands opens up Taking Stock, the Nomads’ next job, so this is the thread to pull if you want to keep working through their questline on Pendola Pass.
