ARCHITECT Rift Boss Averus: Level 1 Requirements and Rewards

Entry level, Dimensional Prism costs, weekly limits, fight mechanics, and how contribution ranking decides your chest tier.

Entry level, Dimensional Prism costs, weekly limits, fight mechanics, and how contribution ranking decides your chest tier.

Averus is the Level 1 Rift Boss, a large-scale raid encounter that pits up to 30 players against a single target with a shared timer and individual reward tiers. Everything about it is deterministic: a fixed level gate, a consumable entry cost, a capped number of weekly attempts, and a chest tier decided purely by how much damage you personally contribute.

Quick answer: Reach Level 48, spend a Dimensional Prism to enter Averus Level 1, then finish in the top four on the contribution ranking to earn a Supreme Rift Boss Lucky Chest instead of the Intermediate one.

Averus Level 1 entry requirements and raid limits

The Rift Boss menu lists every condition before you queue, and none of them can be worked around. The encounter runs on a hard timer, so a group that stalls simply fails out.

RequirementValue
LevelLevel 48 Over
Max Players30 Player(s)
Time Limit900 secs (15 minutes)
Entry cost1 Dimensional Prism
Weekly Entry Attempts10 by default

Averus opens the fight with 10 health bars, which is why the raid is built around a full group rather than a small squad. The arena is the Courtyard of the Binder, reached through a short stone walkway once the instance loads.

Dimensional Prisms and the weekly reset

The Dimensional Prism is the key item for every Rift Boss run. Its description frames it as a crystal that captures the essence of Rift Bosses, refining the energy of defeated bosses into dimensional treasures. In practice it is a straightforward entry ticket that is consumed when you queue.

  • Dimensional Prisms reset to 3 each week.
  • Weekly Entry Attempts are capped at 10 by default.
  • Extra attempts are added through the Weekly Entry Recharge Count prompt in the Rift Boss menu.
  • Both the prism stock and the attempt counter refresh on the weekly cycle.

Check the recharge prompt before you burn your last attempt, since it is the only place the extra runs are purchased.

How to queue for the Rift Boss raid

Open the main character menu and select the Dungeon category. This is the hub for instanced content and holds the Rift Boss entry.
Pick Rift Boss to load the Averus Level 1 panel. It shows the level gate, player cap, time limit, and the ranking rewards attached to each contribution tier.
Start matchmaking. The prompt fills with players and then asks you to confirm entry, which is where your Dimensional Prism and one weekly attempt are spent.

Press Ready and wait through the loading screen. You spawn outside the arena, so mount up and follow the stone path into the circular platform where Averus waits.

When the run ends you are returned to the open world, with Pulsing Ridge as the zone you load back into.

Averus fight mechanics and what to dodge

Averus telegraphs nearly everything it does on the arena floor. Red and blue markers appear before each attack lands, in two shapes you need to read differently.

  • Circular AoE zones — step outside the ring before it resolves.
  • Linear AoE lines — move sideways rather than backward.
  • Wide area slashes swung across the stone floor at close range.
  • Swirling wind and dark sphere abilities thrown out mid-fight.
  • Expanding green barrier domes that spread across the arena and force repositioning.

Because rewards track damage rather than survival, the practical approach is hit and run. Commit damage between telegraphs, clear the marker, then re-engage. Dying costs far more contribution than a few skipped casts.

Contribution ranking and Rift Boss chest rewards

Loot is not rolled at random from a shared pool. When the last health bar empties, the Boss Defeat Result window sorts every participant by damage contribution and hands out a chest tier based on where you land.

Contribution rankChest tierNotable contents
Rank 1–4Supreme Rift Boss Lucky Chest: Level 1Improved odds on weapon blueprints
Below Rank 4Intermediate Rift Boss chestStandard blueprint and material drops

The gap between the two tiers is drop rate, not a completely different loot list. Both can yield weapon blueprints, but the Supreme chest carries the better chance at the rare entries. A mid-pack finish still pays out, just at lower odds.

Percentages are relative to the whole raid, so a double-digit contribution share is already strong in a lobby that can hold 30 players.

How to confirm the run counted

Success is confirmed on screen rather than in a log. Averus drops to zero health bars, the Boss Defeat Result panel opens automatically, and your private ranking and contribution percentage are listed alongside the reward preview for the chest you earned.

After you exit the arena, reopen the Rift Boss panel to verify the second half of the transaction. Your Dimensional Prism count and Weekly Entry Attempts should both have dropped by one, which is the clearest sign the attempt was registered against your weekly allowance.

With three prisms banked each week, Averus Level 1 is a short, repeatable commitment rather than a long grind. Reading the floor markers and staying alive matters more than raw output, since every second spent respawning is contribution you are not earning toward the higher chest tier.
