The final content drop for Assassin’s Creed Shadows lands as Title Update 1.1.11, closing out Ubisoft’s post-launch support with a new free story quest, a fresh end-game activity, two crossover Projects, and a long list of balance changes. It rolls out the same day across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, though one set of crossover rewards is limited to certain platforms.
Quick answer: Title Update 1.1.11 goes live on June 16, 2026 at 14:00 UTC (7AM PST / 10AM EST). Install the update on your platform, then load your save to access the new Black Tides quest, Domains mode, and the Riptides and Undertow Projects.

New content in Title Update 1.1.11
The headline addition is Black Tides, a free story quest that brings two elite Templars known as the Black Cross to Japan. They are sent to hunt Naoe and Yasuke, but the Order being what it is, they carry their own agenda. Your job is to stop them from claiming whatever they are after, and survive the encounter.
Black Tides is gated behind earlier progress, so it will not appear until you have cleared the conditions below. If the quest does not show up, check that all three requirements are complete on your save.
- Finish Naoe and Yasuke’s main story.
- Complete the post-launch quest “A Critical Encounter.”
- Complete the post-launch quest “A Puzzlement.”
Riptides and Undertow crossover Projects
Two new Projects, Riptides and Undertow, appear in the Animus HUB. You activate them by completing Anomalies and working through the reward tiers, the same way earlier Projects worked. They unlock themed outfits, weapons, trinkets, and more, and the rewards count toward both Shadows and Black Flag Resynced when that game launches later this year. Anomalies from either game can push your progress forward.
Note: These crossover Projects are not available on Nintendo Switch 2, because they contain Black Flag Resynced content and that title is not coming to the platform.
Domains end-game activity
Domains is a new Animus activity built around your RPG loadout. It spreads five gameplay simulations across 10 challenge levels and unlocks once you reach level 30. Higher difficulties stack more gameplay modifiers, so a build that clears one Domain may struggle in the next, pushing you to rework engravings, weapons, and trinkets.
An in-game character named MOD runs an exclusive shop with its own currency, sells powerful engravings, and offers a progression tree to keep pace with the rising difficulty. Rewards include remixed outfits, weapons, trinkets, and engravings, plus secret rewards on the hardest tiers. None of these items will appear in the store or the exchange, so they are earned only through Domains.
Horizon Animus Rift
A new Animus Rift called Horizon opens once you have completed the previous Rift quests. It continues the Eagle’s thread about the Guide. Alongside this, the update reworks how the Animus HUB features are reached from the main menu, with System options now accessible only through the Shadows’ Memory page so menu access matches the in-game flow.

Notable gameplay and gear changes
Beyond the new content, 1.1.11 rebalances combat and loot. Adrenaline-generating perks have been reworked into a percentage of an adrenaline chunk and tuned to lower values, and abilities that strip enemy armor are now half as effective against bosses. Enemies take fall damage from shorter drops, while poison kunai and explosive grenades thrown by enemies deal less damage.
- Up to six “Corrupted Castles” are now available each season.
- The “Whisper of Gold Long Katana” perk now increases ability damage by 100 percent, up from 50 percent.
- “Teppo” and “Bow” weapons can now be engraved with armor damage and armor piercing perks.
- Naoe’s “Ethereal Cloth Headgear” perk now triggers below 15 percent health, up from 10 percent.
- Forge engraving lists are reordered with a new “Critical Category,” and perks no longer engrave on slots where they have no effect.
- Pins and world markers now persist when traveling across Japan and Awaji.
The update also clears several quest blockers, including progression fixes for “Gather Mon,” “Way of the Blacksmith,” and “Lost and Found.” On Nintendo Switch 2, the patch adds GPU performance improvements in handheld mode.
How to confirm the update installed
On Switch 2, the download is about 9.5GB. After installing, load your save and open the Animus HUB. Domains should be selectable once you are level 30, and the Riptides and Undertow Projects should appear on supported platforms. If those Projects are missing on Switch 2, that is expected, since the crossover content is excluded there.
With this drop, Ubisoft is winding down active support for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The crossover rewards tie directly into Black Flag Resynced, so anything you unlock through the new Projects carries over when that game arrives later in the year.
