Everything needed to add the Season 4 bullpup rifle to your loadout through the free Battle Pass path.

The EF88 is a bullpup assault rifle added with Battlefield 6 Season 4: Pacific Front. It is built for mid-range engagements, pairing steady firepower with recoil that stays easy to control. Its stats sit close to the L85A3 and the TR-7, the latter being the other bullpup rifle available at launch.

Quick answer: Unlock the EF88 by reaching Tier 11 of the Benthic Tomb path in the free Season 4 Battle Pass. Select that path, then earn Battle Pass XP by playing any mode until you hit Tier 11.

EF88 unlock requirement in Battlefield 6

The EF88 costs nothing beyond progress. It is one of three firearms handed out through the Season 4 Battle Pass, alongside the BROD 3 Carbine and the VSSM Designated Marksman Rifle. Each weapon sits on its own Battle Pass path, so you only need to climb the right one.

Open the Battle Pass menu and select the Benthic Tomb path. This tells the game which rewards your XP should feed into.
Play matches to earn Battle Pass XP. Any mode counts, including Quickplay, Ranked, REDSEC, and Portal, so pick whatever you play best.
Keep progressing until the path reaches Tier 11. The EF88 unlocks the moment that tier is claimed and then appears in the assault rifle list when you customize a primary weapon.

Fastest ways to reach Tier 11

Two things speed up the climb. XP Boosters multiply the Battle Pass XP you earn, and Weekly Challenges hand out large chunks of progress on top of your match rewards.

You can turn on an XP Booster from the Multiplayer tab by opening Quickplay and choosing Ranked, REDSEC, or Portal. If you are already loading into or playing a match, activate a booster from the pause menu instead.

Weekly Challenges live in the Challenges tab of the main menu. Completing them grants Battle Pass XP, and any task that feels too slow or awkward can be rerolled for a new one. Running a booster while you clear these challenges gives the quickest overall progression.

Season 4 also progresses faster than earlier seasons. Battle Pass gains are now 2.5x quicker than they were in Season 1, which cuts down the grind to Tier 11 considerably.

Skip the grind with Battlefield Coins

If you want the EF88 immediately, you can buy Battle Pass tiers with Battlefield Coins instead of earning them. Reaching Tier 16 outright costs 2,400 Battlefield Coins. That is a steep price given the Battle Pass itself costs only 1,100 Battlefield Coins, so paying to skip is rarely worth it unless you value the time saved.

How to confirm the EF88 is unlocked

Once Tier 11 of the Benthic Tomb path is claimed, head to Loadouts, pick a class that uses assault rifles, and open the Select Primary Weapon screen. The EF88 will show as available in the Assault Rifle tab with no lock icon, meaning you can equip it straight away.

Note: The Interdictor Sniper Rifle is the fourth Season 4 weapon and does not use the Battle Pass. It becomes available later in the season through a limited-time event in Phase Two, so it is not something you can unlock by grinding the Benthic Tomb path.
