Game Freak has shipped Title Update 1.0.7 for Beast of Reincarnation, its first big round of fixes since the action RPG launched on August 4, 2026. The patch targets the complaints players raised most loudly after release, reworking the camera, adjusting the parry window, rebalancing bosses, and switching the default cutscene mode away from the choppy 24fps Cinematic setting.

Quick answer: Update 1.0.7 is live on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. On Steam it downloads automatically the next time you launch the client. Check the settings menu after updating and confirm the version reads 1.0.7.

Camera, text, and control changes in Update 1.0.7

The most requested fixes land on presentation and controls. The camera has been adjusted both in and out of combat, with Game Freak noting more camera tuning will follow in later patches. Text size has been increased across the game, which addresses the near-unreadable interface many players hit on standard TVs. You can now remap the “interact” button in the settings menu.

The default cinematic cutscene setting has been changed from Cinematic to Performance mode, so cutscenes no longer run at 24fps by default. The Cinematic option is still available if you prefer it. Note: if you already set this to Cinematic before updating, switching it to Performance will only apply going forward.

Combat and story pacing adjustments

Combat sees two meaningful tweaks. The parry window has been adjusted for when Emma is taking damage, and bosses have been rebalanced across every difficulty level. Enemy encounters on Normal difficulty also received balance changes.

On the story side, the pacing change is narrow but specific. Some affinity-building conversations that could trigger several times back-to-back are now capped at once per day. Game Freak says broader work on the cutscene experience is still coming.

Bug fixes and technical corrections

The patch clears out more than a dozen individual issues, ranging from progression blockers to settings that failed to save. The table below groups the confirmed fixes.

AreaFix
Kagura eventFixed a case where mapping interact to square/X made “rest until morning” take priority, blocking the talk with Kagura on the Walker.
Bloom ArtFixed Emma becoming unable to interact after a Bloom Art is cancelled.
Subcity 01Fixed the 6th golem being difficult to find.
Button iconsFixed button icon type changes not saving correctly.
UpscalingFixed upscaling settings resetting after restarting the game.
V-SyncFixed changing V-Sync settings altering the player’s resolution settings.

How to confirm the update installed

Launch the game after the patch has downloaded. On Steam this happens automatically the next time you open the client, so make sure the download has finished before booting.
Open the settings menu and verify the build reads 1.0.7. If the camera behaves differently and text appears larger, the update is active.
Check the cutscene setting. If you had never touched it, cutscenes now default to Performance mode. If it still shows Cinematic, switch it to Performance manually to apply the smoother playback.

What Game Freak plans to fix next

Game Freak has committed to a series of continuous updates and outlined specific items already in the pipeline. No date has been confirmed for these follow-up patches.

  • Implementation of DLSS 4/4.5 (L/M) and FSR4
  • Further small adjustments to story pacing
  • Additional camera tuning
  • More text size options
  • Continued improvements to the cutscene experience

The studio has encouraged players to submit feedback so future fixes stay aligned with the issues people are actually running into. With 1.0.7 addressing the camera, parrying, readability, and boss balance in one pass, the groundwork is set for the additional patches Game Freak says are still coming.
