Emma starts Beast of Reincarnation with a single basic blade, but the katana she carries changes everything about how a fight goes. Each weapon carries its own passive skill on top of a raw Attack stat, and those skills decide whether you shred a Nushi in seconds or grind through it. The ranking below sorts every melee weapon by how much it helps against tough enemies and how long it stays useful as you move through the chapters.
Quick answer: First Moon, Black Blossom, Resonance Sword, and Kanzashi are the strongest weapons and work in nearly every fight. Reach for one of those before a boss.

Full weapon tier list
| Tier | Weapons |
|---|---|
| S | First Moon, Black Blossom, Resonance Sword, Kanzashi |
| A | Camellia, Winterwake, Fall Thunder, Hazebringer, Purifier Blade |
| B | Thunderwave Sword, Sunrise Sword, Silverlight, Shark Cutter, Mechblade (Standard), Cirrus Sword |
| C | Purity, Spring Storm, Hunter’s Sword, Bell Sword |
Placements weigh three things: base Attack, how much the weapon’s skill adds in a real fight, and whether that value holds up against bosses and elite enemies rather than fading after the early chapters. This ranking reflects the game as it plays at launch in August 2026.

Add to Google Preferences →S tier: The blades worth building around
These four cover every situation and stay strong the whole way through. If you have one equipped, you rarely need to swap for a specific encounter.
First Moon is the standout. It pairs high damage with strong movement speed, and its Ravenous Eclipse skill applies Weaken on every hit, stacking up to two times over five seconds. That stacking debuff makes it the sharpest choice for bosses and elite enemies.
Black Blossom is the poison specialist. Its Poison Storm skill drops poisonous lightning with each slash, layering 10 Poison buildup for five seconds, which is ideal when you are swinging into a crowd.
Resonance Sword brings crowd control through Puppet’s Call, giving each slash a 2% chance to turn an enemy into a puppet for five seconds. Note that this does not affect strong enemies or Nushi, so treat it as a tool for thinning out regular packs.
Kanzashi is the survival pick. Its Robes of Reincarnation skill wraps Emma in a rejuvenating light barrier that slowly restores HP for three seconds, which keeps you standing through drawn-out fights.
A tier: Reliable damage for almost any fight
These weapons trail the top four only slightly and hold their own across most encounters. Several are elemental specialists worth keeping for the right matchup.

| Weapon | Attack | Skill effect |
|---|---|---|
| Camellia | 21 | Spring Thunder adds 5% slash damage and 10 Lightning buildup per hit for 5s |
| Winterwake | — | Vermillion calls flaming lightning, 3 Flame buildup to nearby foes for 5s |
| Fall Thunder | 27 | Lightning Edge applies 5 Lightning buildup per hit for 5s |
| Hazebringer | 27 | Caustic Touch adds 5 Acid buildup per hit for 5s |
| Purifier Blade | 27 | Purifier Soul cuts Emma’s Stagger by 1 for 5s when she takes damage |
Camellia is the most all-round of the group thanks to its slash boost plus Lightning buildup. Fall Thunder, Hazebringer, and Purifier Blade all share a strong 27 Attack, with Purifier Blade standing out as a defensive option that keeps you on the offensive by reducing Stagger. Winterwake is your go-to when Flame damage matters.
B tier: Serviceable, but soon outpaced
B-tier blades handle routine encounters but tend to fall short against bosses. A few are useful stepping stones early on, including the default weapon you begin with.

| Weapon | Attack | Skill effect |
|---|---|---|
| Thunderwave Sword | 21 | Tempest calls lightning, 3 Lightning buildup to nearby foes for 5s |
| Sunrise Sword | 21 | Light of Dawn adds 5% slash damage and 3 Flame buildup for 5s |
| Silverlight | 27 | Flurry boosts slash damage by 2.5% for 5s |
| Shark Cutter | — | Spiral Critical raises Emma and Koo’s crit chance by 7% for 5s |
| Mechblade (Standard) | 27 | Mech Slash increases third-attack damage by 1.03x for 5s |
| Cirrus Sword | 27 | Clear Skies increases Emma and Koo’s damage by 2% for 5s |
Sunrise Sword is arguably the best early-stage pickup, found in Chapter 4 and strong for a Flame build. Cirrus Sword comes with the Red Key in Chapter 1 and gives a small early damage bump. The Mechblade (Standard) is your starting weapon; you can upgrade it to stay viable, but most players move on once stronger blades appear. Shark Cutter trades raw power for a fast moveset and a handy crit boost.
C tier: Early-game only
These blades do a job in the opening chapters, then get outclassed quickly. They lack the damage or the skill payoff to carry you through tougher fights, so swap them out as soon as a better option shows up.

| Weapon | Attack | Skill effect |
|---|---|---|
| Purity | — | Restores Emma’s HP equal to 3.5% of damage dealt for 5s |
| Spring Storm | 21 | Turbulence adds 5% slash damage and 20 Drench buildup per hit for 5s |
| Hunter’s Sword | 27 | Envenomed adds 5 Poison buildup per hit for 5s |
| Bell Sword | 27 | Crushing Blade raises Emma’s knockback by 1.03x for 5s |
Hunter’s Sword is a fine poison option at first, but Black Blossom does the same job far better later. Purity offers a little sustain, Spring Storm covers early Drench needs, and Bell Sword can crack enemy defenses through knockback. None of them keep pace once bosses hit harder.
If you are still early in the game, lean on whatever B or C blade fits your build, then transition toward the A and S picks as they unlock. First Moon is the clearest long-term target, with Kanzashi as a strong backup whenever a fight threatens to drag on.
