Anime Galaxies doesn’t make you reroll Traits. You feed Trait Crystals into a unit, and each time it crosses a crystal milestone you choose a Trait from that rarity’s list. Because nothing is random, the only real decision is which Trait matches the job you want the unit to do.
Quick answer: At Mythic, choose Galactic or Chosen; at Legendary, take Hyper Speed; and at Rare and Epic, use Enraged. Spedwag is the exception: give it Bounty Hunter.

Anime Galaxies Trait Crystal milestones
Each unit has its own crystal total. Adding crystals to a unit unlocks the next rarity tier of Traits for that unit only.
| Trait Crystals added | Trait rarity you can choose |
|---|---|
| 10 | Rare |
| 30 | Epic |
| 100 | Legendary |
| 400 | Mythic |
Mythic is the grind, and it costs crystals per unit, not per account. Spend your crystals on the units you’ll keep fielding late in the game, not on early filler units you plan to replace.
The Mythic selection screen has also appeared with the message “reached 500 Trait Crystals.” Check the exact requirement on your unit’s Trait panel before you budget crystals for it.
You know a selection went through when the “Choose a Mythic Trait” screen (or the matching screen for another rarity) closes and the new Trait appears on the unit. The selection screen also states which Trait you’re replacing. For example, it reads “Replaces your current trait: Disaster” when you upgrade from that Legendary. A unit carries one Trait at a time, so every pick overwrites the previous one.

Best Mythic Traits: Galactic, Chosen, Bounty Hunter, Wraith
Four Traits show up on the Mythic selection screen. The effect text below is copied from the in-game cards.
| Trait | Tier | In-game effect | Placement limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galactic | S | +250% damage, -10% cooldowns, +10% range | Only 1 |
| Chosen | S | +300% damage, +20% range | Only 1 |
| Bounty Hunter | A | +25% damage, +1.5% per enemy defeated (max 175%) | None listed |
| Wraith | B | +20% damage, +1.5% per enemy defeated (max 175%) | None listed |
Galactic is the pick for a single damage carry. Its catch is the one-placement limit. A Galactic unit can’t be duplicated across the map, so you’re betting on one heavily boosted copy beating the combined output of several normal copies. For most top-end carries, that bet pays off.
Chosen shares the top tier with Galactic. It is usually described as a broader package of damage, cooldown reduction, and range with no placement cap. However, the card on the selection screen lists a larger damage bonus, more range, and the same “Only 1 can be placed” line as Galactic. Read the card on your own screen before you treat Chosen as the option you can spread across several copies.
Bounty Hunter ranks lower overall, but it matters most for Spedwag, the farm unit. It’s tied to a boost in farm income plus cheaper placement and upgrades. That makes your economy roll faster, which is the entire reason Spedwag is on the field. On a farm unit, it beats a higher-ranked combat Trait.
Wraith sits in B tier. Its main strength shows up against bosses, so it fits a dedicated boss killer. Against regular waves the bonus is smaller, which makes it a weaker choice for a unit that has to carry an entire stage.

Best Legendary Traits: Hyper Speed, Marksman, Disaster, Perceptive
| Trait | Tier | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Hyper Speed | S | -22.5% cooldowns (~29% more attacks) |
| Marksman | A | Extra range |
| Disaster | A | Bonus damage to enemies under 40% HP |
| Perceptive | B | Extra XP |
Hyper Speed is the default Legendary because more attacks mean more sustained damage. It also helps units fill attack-count passives sooner. That makes it a strong fit for Stork (Resurrection), whose Soul Wolf fires on every third attack, and Goju (Six Eyes), whose Reversal Burst fires on every fourth. The extra attacks only add up if the unit keeps attacking. Hyper Speed also does not shorten fixed passive timers, such as abilities that trigger every set number of seconds.
Marksman depends on the map. Extra range can let a unit reach a second stretch of the path, give a damage dealer more time to hit enemies as they walk past, or widen a support unit’s coverage.
Disaster is a finisher. Its bonus is large once a target falls below 40% health, which helps against tanky enemies. Until a target drops under that line, Disaster adds nothing.
Perceptive is for leveling only. It gives no combat boost, and once the unit hits its level cap it has nothing left to do.
Swift also appears in the Legendary Trait index. It doesn’t have a settled ranking yet.

Best Rare and Epic Traits: Enraged, Dedicated, Sniper
| Trait | Tier | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Enraged 2 / Enraged 1 | S | Damage |
| Dedicated 2 / Dedicated 1 | A | Basic-attack DPS |
| Sniper 2 / Sniper 1 | A | Range |
Enraged is the safe default. Its damage bonus also raises abilities that scale off the unit’s damage stat, including damage-over-time effects, so it helps more of a unit’s kit than it first appears.
Dedicated is a close contender, particularly at Epic. It supports consistent basic-attack damage and may suit units with passives tied to attack counts better. Enraged and Dedicated are nearly even mathematically, so choose based on the unit’s passives.
Sniper earns its place because range can be worth more than a small damage bump. Use it when enemies keep slipping past a unit, or when a support unit needs to reach more teammates.

Best Trait for each Anime Galaxies unit
Match the Trait to the unit’s role. Here’s how the current top units line up at the Mythic and Legendary milestones.
| Unit | Role | Best Trait |
|---|---|---|
| Sokonu (King) | Wave-clear carry | Galactic |
| Roger (Pirate King) | Damage and support | Galactic |
| Zid (Atomic) | AoE carry | Galactic |
| Goju (Six Eyes) | Close-range damage | Galactic (Hyper Speed at Legendary) |
| Joren (Unlimited) | Stun and damage | Galactic |
| Itoshi (Awakened) | Damage and support | Galactic or Chosen |
| Ishgo (Perfect Mask) | Damage dealer | Chosen |
| Stork (Resurrection) | Sustained AoE | Chosen (Hyper Speed at Legendary) |
| Spedwag | Farm | Bounty Hunter |
| Foji | Air coverage and Slow | Marksman |
| Megomu (Shadows) | Slow and control | Marksman |
Because Galactic is limited to one placement, you can’t load every carry onto the field with it at the same time. Decide which unit is your main damage source, put Galactic there, and give your second carry Chosen. Foji and Megomu get Marksman because their Slows and coverage only help the team when enemies stay inside their range.
The rankings above compare Traits within the same rarity, so an S-tier Rare will never match an A-tier Mythic. When a lower-ranked Trait fits a unit’s job better, as Bounty Hunter does on Spedwag, take it over the higher-ranked option.
