Big Walk: How to Solve the Green Chair Headphone Puzzle

Two players split across the island to open a hidden box and claim the Red Finger collectible.

Two players split across the island to open a hidden box and claim the Red Finger collectible.

The green chair with headphones in Big Walk looks broken on purpose. You get a chair, a speaker, a pair of headphones, and a button, but nothing to grab. That is the point. The button on the green platform and the reward are on opposite sides of the island, so one person has to stay put while the other walks all the way to a hidden radio station and microphone box.

Quick answer: Have one player sit in the green chair, send the second player to the microphone box near the green-area radio station, then have the seated player press and hold the yellow button once the traveler is standing at the box. The box opens and the runner grabs the Red Finger.

What you need before you start

This is a two-player puzzle and there is no solo workaround. The button lives back at the green chair, and the collectible sits inside a box near the radio station, so the two spots can never be covered by one person. Assign roles before anyone moves.

RoleJob
Chair playerSits in the green chair, keeps the sound cue active, and presses the yellow button when the runner signals.
RunnerTravels to the green-area radio station, finds the hidden microphone box, and collects the Red Finger once it opens.

Tip: Do this during in-game daylight. The green area is full of rocks, trees, and paths that blur together after dark, and the tunnel system is hard to read at night.

Set the chair player in place

Everything hinges on the chair player staying seated. The moment they sit, music starts playing through the connected speaker system, which is the signal that the mechanism is live. If they get up early, the runner reaches the box with no way to open it and the whole loop resets.

Walk onto the green platform overlooking the ocean and find the chair, headphones, speaker, and the yellow button beside it. Both players should stand here first so you agree on which setup you are solving.

One player sits down and stays there. Do not touch the button yet. The runner needs to be standing at the microphone box before the press means anything.
Agree on a single clear signal before the runner leaves, such as a walkie-talkie call, a flare, or a plain “press now” over voice chat. Deciding this on the fly while your teammate is several minutes away is how sessions stall.

Route to the green-area radio station

The runner’s target is a small dance and radio area over on the green side of the map. There are a few ways to get there, and the tunnel is the cleanest if you have already opened it.

RouteNotes
Tunnel systemEasiest to follow once unlocked, but a longer walk. Fewer chances to get lost.
Rope bridgeFaster than the tunnel, more exposed.
Overland pathsWorks if you know the way, best attempted in daylight.
Look behind the chair and pick out the tall blue tower in the distance. This is your first big landmark. Run across the rocky ground toward it.
Head into the tunnel entrance near the tower and follow it through toward the green side. Come out at the green exit and get your bearings near the green tower.

Follow the music. The audio gets louder as you close in, and floating music notes appear along the way. Speaker-like devices are placed on the route to relay the sound and point you toward the station. If the music fades, you are heading the wrong way.

Find the hidden microphone box

The station is easy to reach but the box is easy to miss. It sits camouflaged among the rocks near the station, next to a microphone that connects back to the headphones on the chair.

Use the radio station as your fixed reference point, then step off the main platform into the surrounding rocky area.
Look between the larger boulders for the tucked-away microphone and the camouflaged box beside it. Keep checking the gaps in the rocks even when you think you are already on top of it.

Open the box and take the Red Finger

Once you are standing at the microphone box, send your agreed signal. Speak into the microphone, fire a flare, or tell your teammate over chat that you are in position.
The chair player gets up and presses the yellow button, holding it for a moment. The mechanism takes a beat to trigger, so releasing too early does nothing.
The hidden compartment opens at the microphone location. Walk over and pick up the Red Finger. When it is in your inventory, the puzzle is done.

You know it worked when the camouflaged box opens at the station and the Red Finger becomes collectible. If nothing opens, the two most common reasons are the chair player leaving their seat before the signal arrives, or the button being tapped instead of held long enough for the mechanism to activate.

Common questions

Can you solve it alone?

No. The button and the reward are on opposite sides of the island, so you need one player at the chair and one at the box.

Do you have to use the tunnel?

No. The tunnel is the clearest route, but the rope bridge and overland paths work too. The best choice depends on which routes you have already unlocked.

What if your teammate cannot hear the signal?

Set up a walkie-talkie, flare, or timing cue before the runner leaves. If the signal keeps failing, have the chair player press and hold the button around the expected arrival time until the box opens.

The walk across the island takes a few minutes, so patience is the real requirement here. Keep the listener glued to the chair, follow the music instead of wandering, and the Red Finger drops without a fight once the timing lines up.
