Nine the Phantom is one of the major additions. As an elite foe, she can cast spells using one element or mix elements for attacks with greater power and variety. The trailer depicts her summoning pillars of fire, ice-crystal spikes, swirling wind vortices, and rings of dark energy.
Beyond her spell list, she can summon familiars to fight alongside her. The intended counterplay is reading her shifting attack patterns, timing dodges, and striking during the gaps between her spells.
The Remains stage and The Lost Gearhulk boss
Remains is the new stage, and it is built around a single big fight. Buried deep inside it sits The Lost Gearhulk, an enormous machine that acts as the stage’s main obstacle.
The Gearhulk swings its massive arms for crushing hits, and missile bays across its body can flood the arena with barrages. Breaking both arms does not finish the fight. A core hidden inside its head keeps attacking with powerful laser blasts, so the encounter runs across multiple phases.
