Ambrus’s Transports: Bloody Business Walkthrough in The Blood of Dawnwalker

Everything the ambush needs, from finding the convoy to the captain's note that actually closes the activity.

Everything the ambush needs, from finding the convoy to the captain’s note that actually closes the activity.

Bloody Business is one of the first Court Activities you can throw at Ambrus in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it is about as simple as they get: a blood convoy walks a forest road, you kill everyone escorting it, and you read the paperwork they were carrying. The catch is the ending. Wiping out the escort does not close the activity on its own, and plenty of players walk away from a pile of bodies wondering why the objective is still sitting in the journal.

Quick answer: Track “Intercept the transport,” kill the full escort on the snowy forest path, then loot the captain Makar for the Letter of Reprimand. That note is the completion trigger. The whole activity costs 3 time segments.

Where Bloody Business sits in Ambrus’s Court

Bloody Business belongs to Ambrus’s Blood Transports group, one of 14 Court Activities tied to him. Ambrus runs the blood supply chain in the northern part of the valley — bleeding prisoners, moving the product, storing it — so hitting a transport chips directly at his operation and pushes his Anger meter up. Once that meter is high enough, his boss quest, The Gilded Gauntlet, unlocks. You do not need all 14; roughly three quarters of his activities is enough.

It is scaled for Level 1 and up, which makes it a reasonable first target after the prologue. Court Activities are not pinned to your map from the start — they show as “Unknown Activity” until you actually find them in the world. Synchronizing the towers early is the fastest fix, since nearby activities then surface as white question marks.

How to complete Ambrus’s Transports: Bloody Business

Open the map and set “Intercept the transport” as your tracked objective. The marker sits on a road running through snowy forest, and the convoy is a moving target rather than a static camp, so follow the path rather than cutting cross-country.

Engage the escort. This is a group fight against several of Ambrus’s soldiers rather than a duel, so pick your ground on the path and avoid getting surrounded on open snow. Nothing here has a gimmick — they are ordinary human guards.

Deal with Uriash, the heavy enemy hauling the barrel. He hits harder and soaks more punishment than the rest of the escort, so it is usually cleaner to thin out the lighter guards first and then commit to him with space to dodge.

Loot Uriash. His body carries the “For Knyaz and Country” writing and the Sharp Eye Manual, alongside a Vial of Human Blood and some junk. Killing him also adds a glossary entry you can read from the notification prompt.

Loot the captain, Makar. This is the step that actually ends the activity. His body holds the Letter of Reprimand from Bardil, plus the Plain Armour of Ambrus’s Soldier and a bottle of Slivovitz. Take the letter and the objective clears.

Full loot from the transport

Only two of these bodies matter for progression, but the escort is worth a full sweep for crafting stock and a recipe.

BodyItems
Uriash (heavy)Sharp Eye Manual, “For Knyaz and Country”, Vial of Human Blood, Improvised Mace, Wooden Spoon, Pretzel
Makar (captain)Letter of Reprimand, Plain Armour of Ambrus’s Soldier, Slivovitz

What the Letter of Reprimand says

The note is a dressing-down from Bardil, and reading it confirms the thing the activity only implies: Ambrus is the one keeping the vrakhiri supplied with blood. It is short, and it is the connective tissue between these convoy raids and the larger campaign against Brencis’s vassals. You can read it from your inventory afterward if you looted everything in one sweep and skipped the text.

How to confirm it worked

Time advances the moment the activity resolves, and you get a completion banner for “Ambrus’s Transports: Bloody Business” along with 12 XP. Your tracked objective then rolls over to whatever else is queued in the journal. Open the Court menu and check Ambrus’s portrait to see his Anger meter tick up.

If the activity is still open after the fight, there is really only one cause: you left the captain’s body unlooted. Sweeping the guards, breaking the barrel, or walking back to the road does nothing on its own — the note on Makar is the trigger. Budget 3 time segments for the trip, since that is real currency against the 30 in-game days you have to reach your family.

Bloody Business pairs neatly with Roadside Surprise, the other Blood Transports activity, if you want to knock out Ambrus’s convoy work in a single outing. And if you are close to his Anger threshold but short on daylight, the three Blood Cellars — Seeing Red, Uninvited, and Trouble Brewing — cost only 1 time segment each and are the cheapest way to finish the job.
