Blox Fruits Prison Secret: How to Capture All 3 Escaped Prisoners

Where each Escaped Prisoner hides at Prison in Sea 1, and how to close the quest out with the Jail Keeper.

Where each Escaped Prisoner hides at Prison in Sea 1, and how to close the quest out with the Jail Keeper.

Prison, the walled fortress island west of Fountain City in the First Sea, hides a secret quest that has nothing to do with grinding the Warden. Three Escaped Prisoners are scattered around the island trying to break out, and rounding all three up is what closes the quest.

Quick answer: Confront and defeat the three Escaped Prisoners — one digging a hole by the trees, one at the cracked wall, and one on a wooden raft outside the outer wall — then speak to the Jail Keeper once the counter reads 3/3.

What the Escaped Prisoners secret quest is

Every island in Sea 1 now carries its own set of secrets — puzzles, rescues, awakened boss fights — and Prison’s version is a manhunt. Three named Escaped Prisoners spawn in fixed spots around the fortress, each one mid-escape and each one hostile the moment you engage.

These are not the Lv. 190 Prisoner enemies you farm for the Jail Keeper’s standard “Defeat 8 Prisoners” quest. Escaped Prisoners are separate NPCs with their own dialogue, their own spawn points, and a dedicated on-screen counter that tracks your progress from 1/3 to 3/3.

Finishing it earns a star for the island. Stars across all Sea 1 islands stack toward unlocking the teleporter in Middle Town, alongside the money, EXP, and stat rewards the secret itself pays out.

Before you start the hunt

Sail or fly to Prison and talk to the island’s quest giver first. Secret quests in the First Sea are keyed off that conversation, so picking up the hint before you go looking saves you a trip back.

Bring a weapon you can land hits with reliably. The Escaped Prisoners are ordinary melee fighters with no special abilities, but they do fight back, and they will chase you if you try to walk away mid-fight.

One rule matters more than your build here. You have to confront each prisoner — approach and trigger their dialogue — before you attack. Swinging at one from a distance without engaging it first is the most common reason the counter refuses to move.

All three Escaped Prisoner locations at Prison

Two of the three are inside the walls, in the grassy courtyard past the main gate. The last one is outside the fortress entirely, which is where most players get stuck. Order does not matter — take them in whatever sequence is fastest from where you land.

Where to lookWhat gives them away
Courtyard, next to a treeDigging a hole in the ground; asks if you’re going to help him dig out
Courtyard, at the cracked wallStanding against a damaged section of brick, mentions grabbing a hammer

The courtyard is the wide grassy area behind the main gate, the one with scattered trees and the small castle at the back. The cracked wall prisoner sits along the inner wall line, so sweeping the perimeter of the courtyard finds him quickly.

How to capture each Escaped Prisoner

Head into the courtyard and find the prisoner digging beside one of the trees. Get close enough for his line to fire, then take him down. The counter jumps to “Prisoners Captured: 1/3.”

Move along the wall until you spot the second prisoner at the cracked brick section. He taunts you about grabbing a hammer to help. Engage and defeat him to reach 2/3.

Leave the inner area and work your way to the outer wall, out over the water platforms. The last prisoner is out there with his raft, well away from the fortress interior.

Confront him and finish the fight. The counter hits 3/3 and a message appears telling you that all prisoners have been captured and to speak to the Jail Keeper.

Turning the quest in to the Jail Keeper

The Jail Keeper stands near the front of the island, in the same area you passed through on your way in. Walk back to him and interact — the QUEST prompt appears, and accepting it wraps the secret and pays out the rewards.

You know it worked when the on-screen prisoner counter clears and the reward notifications fire. If you are close to a level threshold, expect the EXP to push you up a level or more on the spot.

If the prisoner counter isn’t going up

There are only a few things that stop progress here, and none of them are subtle.

  • You attacked without confronting first. Trigger the prisoner’s dialogue before dealing damage.
  • You are killing regular Prisoner enemies instead. Those are the standard Lv. 190 farm mobs and do not count toward the secret.
  • You never left the courtyard. The third target is outside the outer wall, not inside the fortress.

The whole run takes a couple of minutes once you know the three spots, and it is one of the cleaner secrets in the First Sea — no puzzle logic, no timed boss window, just three fights and a walk back to the gate.
