Redeem codes in Borderlands 4

Codes can be entered either from inside the game or through the Shift website. Both routes deliver the reward to your account, and it shows up the next time you check your in-game mailbox.

Redeem in-game

Pause Borderlands 4 and open the Shift tab from the pause menu.

Type in the code exactly as shown, dashes included, then confirm.

Check your inventory’s rewards section. The Golden Keys or cosmetic item appears there once the code goes through.

Open the rewards section and paste the code into the entry field.

Select Borderlands 4 as the game to claim the reward for, then submit. Launch the game and check your inventory to confirm it landed.

Get a personal code through the Discord quest

A separate reward path exists through Discord’s quest system, and it generates a code tied only to your account rather than a shared one.

Open Discord, go to Discover, then Quests, and find the Borderlands 4 Looter Quest.

Click Accept Quest and pick either Quest on Desktop or Quest on Console, matching where you play.

Launch Borderlands 4 and play for 15 minutes. Discord tracks your progress with a circular meter next to the quest.

Once the timer fills, click Claim Reward. A pop-up window displays your unique Shift code, which you then redeem the same way as any other code.

Where to spend Golden Keys

Golden Keys unlock Golden Chests rather than regular loot containers. Four locations hold these chests, and the main story naturally routes you through most of them.

Loot from these chests scales to your character’s current level, so opening a stack of keys early in the campaign yields weaker gear than saving them for later.
