Borderlands 4 Codes (August 2026)

How to redeem Borderlands 4 codes

You need a free SHiFT account before any code will work. Create one with an email address or by signing in with a first-party platform account such as Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox, then link that platform account under the “Gaming Platforms” tab so rewards land in the correct game save.

Open the SHiFT rewards page

Select the “Rewards” tab from your account dashboard.

Type or paste a code exactly as shown, then hit “Redeem.” A valid code triggers an in-game email containing your reward.

Launch Borderlands 4 and open the “Reward Center” inside the Inventory menu to collect the item or Golden Keys.

From the game’s starting menu or the pause menu, select “SHiFT.”

Open the “Rewards” tab and enter your code.

Confirm with “Redeem,” then check the “Reward Center” in your Inventory menu to pick up the item.

Golden Keys open Golden Chests found at the four main hub towns: The Launchpad, Carcadia, Belton’s Bore, and The Lockaway. Loot from these chests scales to your character’s current level, so keys spent later in the campaign tend to yield stronger gear.

Other ways to earn SHiFT rewards

Not every reward requires typing in a code. The “Hazard Pay” weapon skin unlocks simply by opting into Gearbox marketing emails. Log in to your SHiFT account, open “User Preferences,” check the boxes for 2K and Gearbox promotional messages, and save your changes. After that, load into Borderlands 4 and collect the skin from the Reward Center in your Inventory. If it doesn’t show up, double-check that your platform account is properly linked to SHiFT.

Buying the Borderlands 4 ECHO-4 Bundle from GameStop grants a unique SHiFT code worth five Golden Keys, valid through December 31, 2030. US residents can also earn the Butterfinger ECHO-4 Drone skin, either through the GameStop Madrinas Coffee Collector’s Box or by entering the Butterfinger x Borderlands 4 sweepstakes. Codes from the sweepstakes can take time to arrive by email.
