Power in Broken Blade stacks across four layers that all multiply your damage: your weapon style, your race, your element, and your blessing. Land the right combination and bosses melt in a fraction of the time, while a weak roll leaves you grinding the same mobs for far too long. The rankings below show exactly what to keep and what to reroll once each system unlocks.
Broken Blade race tier list
Races work like your character class and hand you passive bonuses you keep at all times. You change them through the reroll system, and the best races combine a large flat damage boost with crit and weapon-specific scaling. Aesir (written as Asura in some menus) sits alone at the top because it raises nearly every offensive stat at once, with a drop rate close to 0.03%.
The legendary trio of Elf, Vanir, and Nether is the realistic goal for most players. They all share a +75% Damage base and differ only in which weapon they boost, so match the race to the weapon you actually swing.
| Tier | Race | Rarity | Key bonuses |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Aesir![]() | Mythical | +75% Damage, +10% Crit Chance, +100% Crit Damage, +5% Attack Speed |
| A | Elf![]() | Legendary | +75% Damage, +25% Sword Damage |
| A | Vanir![]() | Legendary | +75% Damage, +25% Katana Damage |
| A | Nether![]() | Legendary | +75% Damage, +25% Buster Damage |
| B | Frost![]() | Epic | +50% Damage, +20% Damage Reduction |
| B | Flame![]() | Epic | +50% Damage, +50% Health |
| C | Giant![]() | Rare | +10% Damage Reduction, +5% Life Steal |
| C | Dwarves![]() | Uncommon | +30% Health |
| D | Human![]() | Common | +10% Health |
Elf scales Sword damage, Vanir scales Katana damage, and Nether scales Buster damage. Flame and Frost are safe leveling picks that trade some offense for survivability, while Giant, Dwarves, and Human exist only to carry you until you can reroll.
Broken Blade element tier list
Elements add a second rerollable damage layer that behaves much like races. Thunder stands above everything because its crit damage multiplier compounds with every critical hit a crit build already produces. Fire is the best raw-damage option to run while you chase a Thunder roll.
| Tier | Element | Rarity | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Thunder![]() | Mythical | +50% Crit Damage |
| A | Fire![]() | Legendary | +50% Damage |
| A | Wind![]() | Epic | +15% Attack Speed |
| B | Life![]() | Rare | +3% Life Steal |
| B | Water![]() | Uncommon | +1.0 Energy Recovery per second |
| C | Earth![]() | Common | +10% Damage Reduction |
Wind suits speed-heavy or slower weapons since faster swings produce more crits over time. Life and Water cover sustain and utility for underleveled gear. Earth is defensive filler you should replace as soon as an offensive element drops.
Broken Blade blessing tier list
Blessings carry the largest single damage numbers in the game and unlock last. Odin leads with a +200% Damage bonus plus crit and attack speed, and Jormungandr trails closely with strong all-around stats and added survivability. Every mythical blessing shares an extremely low drop rate of around 0.0085%, so plan to farm before you roll.
| Tier | Blessing | Rarity | Key bonuses |
|---|---|---|---|
| SS | Odin![]() | Mythical | +200% Damage, +75% Crit Damage, +25% Buster Damage, +12% Attack Speed |
| SS | Jormungandr![]() | Mythical | +175% Damage, +70% Crit Damage, +12% Attack Speed, +10% Damage Reduction |
| S | Hel![]() | Mythical | +125% Damage, +75% Crit Damage, +25% Buster Damage, +60% Heal |
| S | Surtr![]() | Mythical | +100% Damage, +25% Buster Damage, +12% Attack Speed |
| S | Fenrir![]() | Mythical | +15% Damage, +8% Crit Chance, +25% Buster Damage, +8% Life Steal |
| S | Thor![]() | Legendary | +70% Damage, +20% Buster Damage, +50% Crit Damage |
| A | Loki![]() | Legendary | +65% Damage, +8% Attack Speed |
| A | Heimdall![]() | Legendary | +55% Damage, +7% Crit Chance, +20% Crit Damage |
| A | Tyr![]() | Legendary | +60% Damage, +6% Life Steal, +8% Crit Damage |
| A | Freyja![]() | Legendary | +50% Damage, +8% Damage Reduction, +20% Health |
| B | Njord![]() | Epic | +40% Damage, +0.5 Energy/sec |
| B | Freyr![]() | Epic | +35% Damage, +15% Crit Damage |
| B | Frigg![]() | Epic | +30% Damage, +5% Attack Speed |
| B | Baldr![]() | Epic | +35% Damage, +15% Crit Chance |
| B | Vidar![]() | Rare | +25% Damage, +5% Life Steal |
| C | Eir![]() | Rare | +20% Damage, +5% Damage Reduction |
| C | Vali![]() | Rare | +23% Damage, +50% Health |
| C | Valkyrie![]() | Uncommon | +18% Damage |
| C | Einherjar![]() | Uncommon | +15% Damage |
| D | Light![]() | Common | +7% Damage |
| D | Dark![]() | Common | +5% Damage |
Odin and Jormungandr are the dream rolls, but Hel, Surtr, Fenrir, and Thor make strong fallbacks when the top two refuse to drop. Keep any legendary blessing over a common one, and replace Light or Dark the moment something better appears.
Best weapon style and which race to pair
There are three weapon styles, and the one you commit to decides which race you want. Sword covers a wide area and manages energy well, which makes it the easiest pick for clearing mobs and leveling. Katana hits hardest on single targets and shines in boss fights, while Buster is balanced but currently lags behind the other two in most content.
| Style | Strength | Best paired race |
|---|---|---|
| Sword | Crowd control, general farming | Elf |
| Katana | High single-target boss damage | Vanir |
| Buster | Balanced, weaker right now | Nether |
For forged weapons, the Celestial Greatsword is the top all-rounder thanks to high base attack, a smooth swing speed, and a magic bolt on full-charge swings. The Voidfang Blade trades raw power for the fastest combos and lifesteal on crits, the Stormcaller Bow is the safest ranged option for crowd control, and the Frostbite Katana applies a freeze that makes enemies take more damage.
How to reroll races, elements, and blessings
You cannot reroll anything from the start. Each system unlocks at a fixed level and runs on items farmed from specific bosses, so reaching those levels is the gate.
Step 1: Reach level 500 to unlock race and element rerolls. Farm the Nivaron boss for Race Reroll items and the Velik boss for Element Rerolls.
Step 2: Reach level 1,000 to unlock blessing rerolls. Farm the Gelaros boss to stockpile blessing reroll items.
Step 3: Spend your rerolls in batches instead of all at once. Drop rates heavily favor commons, so build a stock of items first, then roll until you land an S-tier result.

Recommended builds by stage
Your ideal setup shifts as you level. Early on, survivability and steady leveling matter more than chasing mythicals you cannot yet roll, so don't burn time hunting Aesir before level 500.
| Stage | Style | Element | Race | Blessing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Early (1–500) | Sword | Fire or Life | Elf or Flame if lucky | None yet |
| Mid (500–2,000+) | Katana or Sword | Fire or Wind | Vanir or Elf | Early legendary |
| Late / Endgame | Sword for versatility | Thunder | Aesir | Odin or Fenrir |
In the endgame, stack crit damage and raw damage together and run the Dragon Slayer reforging path from the Eclipse update. Learn the parry timing on the F key to survive tougher bosses while you push Boss Rush for materials and more reroll items. These rankings reflect the current meta and can shift after a balance patch, so check your own numbers in-game whenever a new update lands.
