Bubbly Basin: How to Get Wugtrio in Pokémon Pokopia

Power the underwater stage, hit Environment Level 5, and recruit the Bulldoze specialist for locked building jobs.

Power the underwater stage, hit Environment Level 5, and recruit the Bulldoze specialist for locked building jobs.

Wugtrio is the Bulldoze specialist you need to clear certain locked restoration jobs in the Bubbly Basin expansion for Pokémon Pokopia. It only moves into town after you restore power to a hidden underwater stage and push the area’s Environment Level to its cap.

Quick answer: Build the beautiful building first, follow Chinchou to the dark room below the water mill, place wireless power-transmitter posts to the stage, interact with the three microphones to activate the Glowing Stage For Three habitat, then raise the Bubbly Basin Environment Level to 5. Wugtrio appears at the stage.

What you need before Wugtrio will appear

Two things gate this entirely. You must have completed the Build the beautiful building request, since Chinchou only starts the stage sequence afterward. You also need crafting materials for the power posts that carry electricity from the water mill to the stage.

Restore power to the underwater stage

Return to the Pokémon Center after the beautiful building is done. Chinchou will be standing nearby, muttering that something is bothering them. Talk to Chinchou and it will lead you toward a dark space it found.

Follow Chinchou around the far side of the building beside the Pokémon Center, down the stairs, past the water mill in the muddy water, and down the steps into the water. Keep tracking it through the hall until you reach the room with the stage.
Chinchou asks if you can bring power to the area, and you receive the recipe for wireless power-transmitter posts and wireless power-transmitter switch posts. Craft them at the workbench using 2x Glass and 2x Pokemetal.
Place the posts on the gray squares marked with a darker gray circle in the center, running the line from the water mill to the stage. Once the last post connects, power flows to the room and the stage lights up.

Activate the Glowing Stage For Three habitat

With power on, walk up to the three microphones on the stage and press the A button on each one to finish the investigate prompt. Completing the interaction triggers the habitat and turns on the glowing stage.

The Glowing Stage For Three is Wugtrio’s only habitat. Its build requirements are three Standing Mics and three lit Wireless Power-Transmitter Posts, which is exactly what you set up when routing power to the stage.

Raise the Bubbly Basin Environment Level to 5

The stage alone will not summon Wugtrio. You need the Basin’s Environment Level at 5, which climbs as you welcome new Pokémon and build new habitats.

Use existing Pokémon traces and the habitats you have already made to attract more residents. Open the Habitat icon in your Pokédex to check which Pokémon are still available in habitats you own, alongside any new ones you can build.
Keep filling out habitats until the Environment Level reaches 5. As soon as you hit that level with the stage powered, Wugtrio moves in and appears at the Glowing Stage For Three.

You know it worked when Wugtrio shows up at the stage ready to join Bubbly Basin. From there you can ask it to follow you and take it to any job that requires the Bulldoze special ability, such as the Pokémon Center rebuild.

What Wugtrio does once recruited

Wugtrio is Pokédex entry No. 47 in Bubbly Basin and carries two specialties, Bulldoze and Search. Bulldoze is the one that matters here, because several restoration projects stay locked until a Pokémon with that ability is on hand.

Note: other Basin Pokémon also know Bulldoze, including Swampert, Whiscash, Stunfisk, Drednaw, and Wiglett, so any of them can cover the same jobs if Wugtrio is busy elsewhere. Registering Wugtrio still counts toward the 50-Pokémon Bubbly Basin Pokédex, which rewards the Party Ball recipe on completion.
