Build a Base RNG runs on one repeating loop. You roll for objects, drop them onto a grid, defend a core against zombie waves, then spend coins on skills before rolling again. The base keeps fighting while you are offline, so smart upgrade timing matters more than raw luck. Below is how to move through that loop as fast as possible.
Quick answer: Buy Luck I (100 coins) first, then Auto Roll (250 coins) so rolling happens on its own. After that, stack Luck II (800 coins), claim every Index reward for its coin and luck bonus, and keep an eye on the crafting recipe that unlocks at Wave 20.

How the core loop works
Every run follows the same four beats. You roll with the dice button, place what you unlock through Build Mode, start a wave, and survive as long as your core stays alive. The base heart sits inside a glass cube and starts at 100/100. When it hits 0, the round ends and you keep the coins you earned.
Build Mode splits into two tabs. The Blocks tab holds walls and traps, and the Weapons tab holds turrets like the Basic Cannon and Cross Bow. Placed weapons fire automatically once a wave starts, and you can add sword swings by clicking during combat. After clearing early waves you unlock the Skills menu, which is where real progress begins.

Rolls decide what you can build. Common blocks appear constantly, while turrets and rare towers sit behind much longer odds. The rarest pull seen so far is the Wooden Tesla at 1 in 1,500, which usually arrives through a stacked luck animation that climbs from a low multiplier up to the final rarity.
| Item | Type | Roll odds |
|---|---|---|
| Wood Block | Block | 1 in 3 |
| Wooden Trap | Trap | 1 in 8 |
| Cross Bow | Weapon | 1 in 15 |
| Stone Mortar | Weapon | 1 in 21 |
| Wooden Mortar | Weapon | 1 in 23 |
| Basic Cannon | Weapon | 1 in 30 |
| Stone Block | Block | 1 in 60 |
| Wooden Spikes | Trap | 1 in 60 |
| Catapult | Weapon | 1 in 100 |
| Rusty Block | Block | 1 in 150 |
| Wooden Tesla | Weapon | 1 in 1,500 |
Luck multipliers shift these numbers in your favor. Skill upgrades, Index bonuses, and Shop boosts all raise your effective luck, which is why the priority is stacking luck before chasing anything expensive.

Best skill upgrade order
The Skill Tree opens after your first successful wave block. Two purchases matter immediately. Luck I improves your pulls, and Auto Roll removes the need to click the dice, letting rolls stack while you build and fight. From there, keep pushing luck and roll speed so your item flow never stalls.
| Skill | Effect | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Luck I | Higher roll luck | 100 coins |
| Auto Roll | Rolls dice automatically | 250 coins |
| Clover Chance I | +10% more clovers | 25 coins |
| Fast Rolls II | +20% roll speed | 45 coins |
| Luck II | Further roll luck boost | 800 coins |
| Friend Luck I | Luck bonus from friends | 1.2K coins |
| Fast Rolls I | Faster rolling | 15 dice |
| Gold Rolls I | Gold roll every 11 rolls | 3.3K coins |
Note: Fast Rolls I is priced in dice rather than coins, so hold onto dice for roll-speed upgrades instead of spending them elsewhere. Gold Rolls I is a long-term goal that only pays off once your coin income is steady.

Base layout and defense placement
Zombies spawn from a cave and push toward your core along a set path. The goal is to thin the crowd before it reaches the heart, so layer your defenses instead of clumping them in one spot.
Because the base fights on its own while you are away, a balanced spread of traps, ranged weapons, and walls matters more than a single strong turret. A layered setup keeps earning value offline and holds up better when a boss appears.

Fastest ways to earn coins
Coins come from clearing waves and claiming rewards, and a full run can bank several thousand at once. One recorded run finished at Wave 20 with 6.1K coins, and another hit 7.2K by Wave 17. Push waves as far as your defenses allow, since later waves pay more.
- Open the Index and claim every unlocked item. Leveling a block like Wood Block to Level 1 pays 90 coins plus a luck multiplier increase.
- Activate Coin Boost from the Shop for x2 coins over three minutes, then start a wave so the doubled income lands during heavy fighting.
- Save the Coin potions awarded from the tutorial and use them during your longest runs for the biggest return.
- Keep Auto Roll on so you constantly unlock new Index entries, each of which adds another claimable coin reward.
Bosses, crafting, and relics
Wave 20 is a turning point. A giant boss zombie spawns, and it can overwhelm an unprepared base by chipping the core down to 0. Clearing that wave also unlocks a new crafting recipe, flagged on screen for use in the Crafting Machine.
The Bosses Update built the game around this fight. Bosses use custom attacks, drop relics, and open crafting paths toward stronger defensive objects. Track those relic drops and recipes, since crafting is the route to defenses that outscale what pure rolling gives you.
If a run ends at the boss, you can spend 29 Robux to Revive or hit Continue to return to your base and keep the coins you already banked. Continuing is usually the practical choice while you build up stronger defenses for the next attempt.

A note on codes
No active codes for Build a Base RNG are currently confirmed. When code redemption exists in games like this, it normally lives behind the Settings icon, where you paste a code and confirm to claim the reward. Until an official code drops, focus your progress on luck skills, Index claims, and Shop boosts.
Everything ties back to the same rhythm. Roll for better objects, layer them into a base that defends itself, and reinvest coins into luck so each cycle is stronger than the last. Do that consistently and the boss waves stop being a wall and start becoming a coin source.
