Build A Ring Farm: Best Pets Ranked (T-Rex, Kitsune, Hydra)

Build A Ring Farm: Best Pets Ranked (T-Rex, Kitsune, Hydra)

Pets are the second biggest income lever in Build A Ring Farm, right behind seeds. Each one you equip adds a passive buff, and those buffs range from raw earnings multipliers to mutation upgrades, full-grow procs, fertilizer drops, and time skips. The gap between the strongest and weakest pets is huge, so picking the right companion changes how fast your cash scales.

🏆
Quick answer: T-Rex (Secret) is the best pet, with a 12x–15.5x earnings boost and a guaranteed mutation upgrade every 300 seconds. Kitsune, Hydra, and Velociraptor round out the top tier.

S Tier pets in Build A Ring Farm

These are the endgame targets. They combine the highest earnings multipliers with mutation upgrades and growth acceleration, which is exactly what compounds your income over long sessions. If you own a T-Rex, it should almost always be equipped.

Pet (Rarity)Earnings boostAbilityNotes
T-Rex (Secret)12x – 15.5xUpgrades a plant's mutation every 300sHighest boost in the game and a guaranteed mutation upgrade. Very hard to obtain.
Kitsune (Prismatic)6x15% chance every 5m to upgrade a plant's mutationOne of the best mutation pets with strong late-game scaling. Ability is RNG-based.
Hydra (Secret)5x15% chance every 10m to upgrade a plant's mutationGreat for high-rarity crops and long-term profit. Long cooldown.
Velociraptor (Prismatic)6xGrants a 5-minute time skip every ~15mSpeeds up every planted crop, but does not directly raise crop value.
🦖
T-Rex is the only pet that guarantees a mutation upgrade on a timer rather than relying on a percentage roll. That reliability is what puts it ahead of Kitsune and Hydra.

A Tier pets worth grabbing early

A Tier pets do not match the top mutation specialists, but they push growth and income hard enough to carry you through mid and late game. Polar Bear and Gallimimus focus on fully growing random plants, while Spinosaurus works as a high-multiplier support pet.

Pet (Rarity)Earnings boostAbilityNotes
Polar Bear (Epic)3.76x20% chance to fully grow a random plant every 2mStrong growth acceleration with a high activation chance. No seed luck focus.
Gallimimus (Legendary)4.87x25% chance to fully grow a random plant every 2mHigh earnings boost paired with a strong grow proc. No mutation focus.
Spinosaurus (Secret)6.69xApplies a Strong Pet Treat every 600sExcellent support pet with a high multiplier. Does not help seed luck or farming.

B Tier pets for early and mid game

B Tier pets are useful while you are still building up your crops and yield. They lean on fertilizers and occasional full-grow procs, which help early on but get outclassed once you reach the top mutation pets.

Pet (Rarity)Earnings boostAbilityNotes
Lion (Epic)3.2x10% chance to apply a Super Fertilizer every 5mStrong fertilizer effect and a solid boost value. Long cooldown.
Crocodile (Rare)2.25x10% chance to fully grow a random plant every 1mFrequent activations make it handy in early and mid game. Low conversion chance.
Mammoth (Legendary)3.5x10% chance every 10m to upgrade a plant's mutationCheap mutation access, but low chance. Outclassed by T-Rex, Kitsune, and Hydra.

C Tier pets that fall off late

C Tier pets can carry a beginner farm, especially the ones with high earnings multipliers like Triceratops. They lose value once you can access better treats, fertilizers, and mutation pets.

Pet (Rarity)Earnings boostAbilityNotes
Triceratops (Secret)5.23xApplies a Normal Pet Treat every 300sReliable progression and a high boost, but Normal Treats are weaker than Strong Treats.
Gorilla (Rare)2.12xApplies a Strong Fertilizer every 900sGuaranteed fertilizer that beats common fertilizer pets. Very long cooldown.
Elephant (Uncommon)1.43xProvides a 1.2x crop yield boostPermanent income increase and easy to obtain. No seed focus.

D Tier pets to swap out fast

These are the weakest pets you can equip. Use them only if you have nothing else, and replace them the moment a better option drops. Their multipliers are low and their effects are niche.

Pet (Rarity)Earnings boostAbilityNotes
Llama (Uncommon)1.4xProvides a 1.2x Sprinkler Power BoostConstant passive boost, but only useful with sprinkler setups.
Golden Retriever (Common)1.22xApplies a Normal Fertilizer every 900sFree fertilizer on a timer, but weak effect and long cooldown.
Capybara (Common)1.22xProvides a 1.1x Seed Luck BoostHelps roll better seeds and works as a starter, but no direct crop improvement.

How to get pets in Build A Ring Farm

Pets come from the Eggs shop on the right side of the map. You buy an Egg, place it in an Egg slot, and roll for a random pet. You can also purchase extra Egg slots so multiple Eggs open at the same time, which speeds up your rolls.

Step 1: Head to the Eggs shop and choose an Egg. A basic Common Egg starts around $25 million, and higher-rarity Eggs cost more.

Step 2: Place the Egg into an open Egg slot. Buy additional slots if you want to hatch several Eggs in parallel.

Step 3: Wait for the Egg to open and reveal the pet, then equip it from your inventory to apply its buff.

You can also buy Eggs directly with Robux through the in-game Shop, then drop them into a slot to open them. The official game lives on the Build A Ring Farm Roblox page if you need the play link.

For the fastest income, prioritize equipping a mutation pet like T-Rex, Kitsune, or Hydra once you can obtain one, and pair it with high-value crops so every mutation upgrade lands on something worth selling. Until then, A Tier grow pets like Gallimimus and Polar Bear keep your plots cycling while you build toward the Secret and Prismatic rarities.
