Rebirth is the main progression system in Build Your Backrooms, and it works differently from most tycoon games. Instead of wiping your plot, each rebirth adds a permanent income multiplier and opens new shop items, buildings, monsters, and biomes. That means there is no penalty for pushing rebirths early, and every one you complete widens the gap between a plain straight-line maze and a high-value trap.
Quick answer: Open the Rebirths (or Upgrade) menu, meet the three listed requirements at the same time — buildings placed, plots unlocked, and current cash — then press the green Rebirth (Lose Nothing) button. Your maze is not reset, and you gain a Cash multiplier plus new unlocks.
What rebirth does to your base
Performing a rebirth does not remove anything on your plot. Your buildings, monsters, and plots all stay exactly where they are. This is the key difference from other Roblox tycoon experiences, where a rebirth clears your progress and forces a full rebuild. Because nothing is lost here, you can rebirth the moment you qualify without rethinking your entire layout.
Each rebirth grants three lasting benefits: a higher income multiplier, access to new shop items, and additional gameplay features. Your first rebirth, for example, unlocks Biomes, which change the look of your maze and add bonuses. The first rebirth also raises your maximum monster limit and adds a small income boost, so your cash-per-capture climbs immediately after you reset.

Add to Google Preferences →The three rebirth requirements
Every rebirth checks the same three conditions, and all three must be satisfied together at the moment you press the button.
| Requirement | What it checks |
|---|---|
| Buildings placed | The number of buildings currently on your plot must reach the listed count. |
| Plots unlocked | You must have cleared the required number of base plots on the map. |
| Cash | Your current cash balance must meet the threshold at the time you rebirth. |
Note: The cash requirement is not cumulative. If you spend money and your balance drops below the threshold, you no longer qualify until you earn it back. Hold off on big purchases once you are close, so you do not have to farm the same amount twice.
The requirements scale up sharply at the higher tiers. Later rebirths ask you to unlock almost every plot on the map, and the cash cost climbs into the millions. By Rebirth 5 and Rebirth 6, the required balance reaches roughly $9 million or more.
How to perform a rebirth

You will know it worked because your rebirth count goes up, the income multiplier updates, and the shops now list the next tier of rooms and monsters. If the button stays greyed out, one of the three requirements is not fully met — most often the cash total dropped after a recent purchase.
All six rebirth unlocks
There are six rebirths in total. Each one adds stronger buildings and higher-earning monsters, which is what drives the jump from small early payouts to million-dollar captures. Use the table to see what every tier delivers.
| Rebirth | Building unlocks | Monster unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Rebirth 1 | Old Storage Room, Pipe Corridor, Electrical Room, Service Turn, Ventilation Room, Alarm Corridor | Hound, Crawler |
| Rebirth 2 | Tiled Corridor, Shallow Pool, Pool Turn, Steam Room, Drainage Crossroad | Siren Lamp, Water Dweller |
| Rebirth 3 | Hotel Corridor, Guest Room, Hotel Service Hall, Old Lobby | Hotel Keeper |
| Rebirth 4 | Snack Room, Neon Corridor, Arcade Turn, Mirror Hall | Mimic |
| Rebirth 5 | Dark Corridor, Fake Exit, Entity Nest | Glitch Entity |
| Rebirth 6 | Red Pool | Red Watcher |
The endgame rooms and monsters are where earnings spike. Pairing the Red Watcher with the Red Pool, Fake Exit, or Entity Nest can push single captures past $1,000,000, compared with the few hundred dollars a starting Wanderer or Smiler earns.
Meet the building requirement cheaply
Every rebirth asks for a set number of buildings, but it does not care how expensive they are. The most cost-efficient way to hit the count is to buy large numbers of the cheapest building available, the Yellow Crossroads. This clears the requirement for a fraction of the cost and leaves your cash free for plot expansions and stronger monsters.
Keep two things in mind while stacking cheap rooms. Every building also raises your monster limit, so filler rooms help you deploy more catchers. And every room must stay connected to the main entrance, because disconnected sections receive no visitor traffic and generate no income.
When to rebirth
Rebirth as soon as you meet the requirements. Since nothing on your base is lost, delaying only slows your access to better rooms, stronger monsters, and a higher multiplier. The faster you cycle through rebirths, the sooner you can funnel visitors into high-multiplier plots like the Red Pool and Mirror Hall for the biggest payouts.
One extra early boost is worth claiming: joining the developer’s Roblox group and liking the game grants a free monster scaled to your current rebirth level. Combined with a steady rebirth pace, that gives you a stronger catcher without spending cash.
