The Burnt Peanut Sprite is one of the rarest cosmetics tucked into Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and it does not show up in the Item Shop or behind a quest. It is hidden inside the Battle Royale loot pool, and the only way to claim it is to pull it from a chest and survive long enough to lock it in.

Quick answer: Open Chests, Rare Chests, and Sprite Chests in Battle Royale until the Burnt Peanut Sprite drops (a 1.5% chance per chest), carry it to an Extraction Site, and extract it before you are eliminated. Own the Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass to then equip it as a pilot on The Guardian outfit.

Where the Burnt Peanut Sprite drops and its odds

The Burnt Peanut Sprite can appear inside Chests, Rare Chests, and Sprite Chests scattered across the Battle Royale map. There are no fixed spawns and no guaranteed locations, so the search comes down entirely to how many chests you open and how lucky you get.

The drop rate sits at 1.5%, which works out to roughly one appearance for every 67 chests opened. That number is steep, so the practical approach is to land, loot aggressively, and crack every chest you can reach while staying alive in the zone.

How to extract the Burnt Peanut Sprite

Finding the Sprite is only half the job. Because it is so rare, it does not save to your account simply for picking it up. You have to extract it at an Extraction Site, and if you die before doing so, you lose it.

Once the Burnt Peanut Sprite appears from a chest, head straight for the nearest Extraction Site on the map. Speed matters here because the Sprite is at risk for as long as it is unsecured.
Begin the extraction and stay alive through it. If you are eliminated mid-extraction, another player can pick up the Sprite and extract it themselves, so defend the spot.
Complete the extraction. Once secured, the Burnt Peanut Sprite is added to your collection and you can safely return to the lobby.

Note: The Sprite can be stolen from anyone carrying it, including opponents who found it first. Players can leave the match the moment they extract, so camping an Extraction Site is a workable tactic if you suspect someone nearby is holding it.

Using the Burnt Peanut as a true cosmetic requires the Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass. Without it, the Sprite stays in your collection but cannot be worn as a pilot.

After a successful extraction, return to the lobby and open the Passes tab. You will see a new unlock prompt tied to The Guardian outfit.
Open The Guardian in your Locker and edit it by pressing E on keyboard, or Square / X on a controller.
Assign the Burnt Peanut Sprite as the pilot of The Guardian. You will know it worked when the Burnt Peanut appears equipped in the outfit slot.

Burnt Peanut Sprite buff and key facts

Beyond the cosmetic, the Burnt Peanut Sprite carries one of the strongest in-match effects available. It increases the loot you receive from eliminations, starting at a 20% chance for extra loot and rising by 10% with each level. At max level you reach a 60% chance for bonus loot, with a 10% modifier for that drop to be a Mythic item.

The current odds make the Burnt Peanut a long-term chase rather than a same-session unlock for most players. If repeated chest runs keep coming up empty, persistence and a willingness to survive deep into each match are the only reliable levers you control right now.
