Castlevania Belmont’s Curse: Necro Charm Location

The Necro Charm is a relic that rewards fast, aggressive play. It gives Rose a short damage boost after every kill. It is tucked behind a saw-blade gauntlet deep in the Catacombs of Paris, and getting there takes a fair amount of platforming.

Quick answer: Start at the Quarry Elevator save mirror in the Catacombs of Paris, then head left and up into the Jaws of Limbo district. The charm is in a chest on the upper-right ledge of the saw-blade room.

Necro Charm effect and district data

Once you kill an enemy with the Necro Charm equipped, Rose’s damage goes up by 25% for the next 3 seconds. The bonus only applies while the charm is in one of Rose’s three relic slots.

The item’s flavor text ties it to forbidden pagan cults and funeral rites the Church condemned.

The Jaws of Limbo district has one breakable wall and one secret area, and the Necro Charm is its only item. The Catacombs of Paris also hold another relic, the Forsaken Ring, in the Antechamber of Sin district. It gives Rose 25% extra damage while she is at full health, so it is worth knowing about if you are planning a damage-focused loadout.

Movement needed to reach the Jaws of Limbo

The route assumes Rose already has a full traversal kit. Check that you can do all of the following before you set out:

Double jump
Air dash
Grapple to the purple-pink rings
Break crumbly stone blocks

Route from the Quarry Elevator save mirror to the Necro Charm

Rest or fast travel using the save mirror at the Catacombs of Paris Quarry Elevator. Exit the save room on the left to reach the Crossroads of the Dead.

Use the grapple rings and wall jumps to climb the Crossroads of the Dead toward its upper exits. Flying and crawling enemies patrol the shaft, so clear them as you go.

Continue up through the Chamber of Whispers and into the Gallery of Teeth. Expect a fight with flying gargoyle-like enemies here.

Cross the upper platforms of the Crossroads of the Dead and defeat the hanging monster along the way. Then drop down into the lower corridors.

Work through the chamber lined with red rotating saw blades, spike pits, and collapsing stone blocks. Don’t stand on the fragile blocks for long, because they give way under you.

Pull the wall lever in the Crossroads of the Dead to open the gates ahead. Grapple up the rings that lead out of the room.

Defeat the large armored brute with the bludgeon, then move on into De Rais Necropolis. Grapple past the fire-breathing gargoyle heads, dodge the floating skull projectiles, and climb the vertical shaft.

At the vertical shaft’s lower right, break through the crumbly block wall. The passage behind it opens into the Jaws of Limbo.

Enter the hall with the giant bleeding skull. Pull the lever on the platform in front of it, ride the elevator down, and take the exit to the left into the obstacle room.

Get through the maze of moving saw blades, spiked walls, and brittle platforms by combining precise jumps, wall dashes, and grapples. The chest sits on the far upper-right platform, and opening it gives you the Necro Charm.

The final room is the hardest stretch of the route. Take it slowly and wait for each saw to move out of the way before you commit to a jump.

Confirming you have the Necro Charm

Opening the chest brings up the Necro Charm’s item card with a HOLD TO EQUIP prompt. Hold the button to put it straight into a relic slot, or choose CONTINUE to equip it later. Afterward, open the map and check that Catacombs of Paris – Jaws of Limbo is marked as the spot where you picked it up. Once the charm is equipped, killing an enemy gives Rose 3 seconds of 25% bonus damage.
