Time needed: 1 minute.

Apple has restored the swipe to close apps feature in iOS 12, which the iPhone X unabashedly removed for no obvious reason. Thankfully, the iPhone XS ships with iOS 12 so you can easily close apps by swiping up from the app switcher screen.

  1. Open App Switcher by swiping up bottom of the screen

Swipe up from the bottom to the middle of your phone’s screen to bring up the app switcher.

  2. Get to the app you want to close

Swipe left or right to get the app you want to close.

  3. Swipe up on the app to close it

Swipe up on the app you want to close from the App Switcher. It’ll be gone.

That’s it. Cheers!
