Control Resonant: Downtown FBC Terminal Answers for Up to the Task

Answer Yes, Yes, and No at any FBC Terminal to bank Source, an Aberrant item, and a World Feat.

Answer Yes, Yes, and No at any FBC Terminal to bank Source, an Aberrant item, and a World Feat.

The FBC Terminal is an optional exchange in Control Resonant where a nervous colleague on the other end of the line grills Dylan Faden about the lockdown. Answering all three questions correctly hands you upgrade materials and clears a World Feat, so it is worth stopping for even though nothing about it is required to progress.

Quick answer: Activate the terminal, then reply Yes, Yes, and No in order. The rewards and the Up to the Task trophy pop the instant the third answer goes through.

Where to find an FBC Terminal

FBC Terminals are scattered across the map, and any of them runs the same short interrogation. Two of the earliest ones are easy to reach on a first pass:

  • Inside the Evac Building in the Central region during the Evacuation Procedures main quest, on the receptionist desk just past the entrance.
  • Inside the Oldest House section of Downtown, south of Central Checkpoint, in a small office off the security hall.

Neither location requires a key or a traversal ability. In Downtown, pass the checkpoint scanners, continue through the security corridor, and enter the side office. Find the older desktop machine resting on a desk.

How to answer the FBC Terminal questions

Stand in front of the monitor. The prompt reads FBC TERMINAL — Activate Terminal. Interact with it to open the text conversation.

Work through the intro dialogue until the Begin prompt appears. The caller explains that three questions follow, each limited to Yes, No, or I don’t know.
Answer the three prompts as listed below. Each one is a straight confirmation of what Dylan already knows about the situation.
#Question topicAnswer
1The lockdown was caused by the HissYes
2Director Faden is still aliveYes
3There has been an FBC coupNo

The reasoning tracks with the story. Director Trench’s tampering with the Slide Projector triggered the Hiss invasion inside the Oldest House, so the lockdown answer is Yes. Jesse Faden is alive and reaching out to Dylan through Faults, so the second answer is Yes. No coup ever took place, which makes the honest reply to the third question No.

In Control Resonant, dialogue replies affect tone alone and do not change outcomes; no reward requires a particular response. The answers above are the truthful options.

Rewards for completing the FBC Terminal

The payout lands the moment the third answer goes through, along with an Aberrant Item popup. You receive:

  • 1 Aberrant Slivers
  • 1 Quiet Echo
  • 200 Source
  • An Aberrant Item

That Source and crafting material feed directly into Dylan’s upgrades, which is the main reason to bother with an otherwise optional terminal.

Up to the Task trophy and World Feats

Completing the exchange registers as a World Feat, and each completed World Feat unlocks the Up to the Task trophy. Its notification appears alongside the reward screen, so seeing the loot banner means you already earned it. No turn-in is required, and you have nothing to return at a Control Point.

World Feats are brief, self-contained activities scattered throughout Manhattan, and this terminal is among the quickest to complete in Downtown. One is enough for the trophy. Completing more raises your zone level, revealing additional markers and making later collectible hunts much shorter.

To confirm it worked, step back into the security hall and open the Downtown map. The terminal’s marker now reads as completed rather than tracked, and the zone’s completion count ticks up.

No trophy is permanently missable. All zones remain accessible in post-game free roam, and you can earn the Platinum in one playthrough without New Game Plus. If you pass the office, you can return to this terminal later.
