Control Resonant is a custom campaign built on Remedy’s Control, and its finale swaps the usual perspective for Dylan Faden. Instead of Jesse hunting the Hiss with the Service Weapon, you steer her brother through a collapsing Manhattan and into a direct confrontation with the Hedron. The ending strings together the last boss fight, a desperate act of self-mutilation, an Astral Plane assault, and a quiet epilogue outside the Oldest House.
Quick answer: Dylan destroys the Hedron in the Astral Plane after tearing out his containment implant, Jesse revives him and falls comatose from the strain, and the epilogue shows Dylan freed as a recognized FBC contractor.
What Control Resonant is and who you play
Control Resonant casts you as Dylan Faden, Jesse’s brother and the Federal Bureau of Control’s Prime Candidate 6. He fights with melee and resonance abilities channeled through a shape-shifting Aberrant weapon rather than the Director’s Service Weapon. The campaign opens with Dylan imprisoned in a glass containment cell inside the Oldest House, comatose after the Hiss corrupted him.

How Dylan reaches the finale
From cleansing to awakening
The setup leans on the events of the base game. Jesse Faden becomes Director after binding the Service Weapon in the Director’s Office and confronting The Board, then works to stop the Hiss threatening the Bureau.

Jesse eventually finds Dylan, journeys through Dimensional Research to the Hedron, and cleanses him of the Hiss. He is left comatose in his chamber, hearing cryptic messages from The Board.

To wake him, Jesse sits at his cell, says goodbye, and drives the Service Weapon into his chest. Dylan surfaces in the Astral Plane, then gasps awake on the examination bed and pulls the weapon free, choosing his Aberrant form as he does. That extraction begins the ORIENTATION quest and sends him out of the Oldest House.

Crossing ruined Manhattan
Dylan crawls out onto a fractured Manhattan surface strewn with floating bodies and wrecked vehicles, warped by Patterning anomalies. He picks up an FBC radio broadcasting an SOS from Supervisory Special Agent Zoe de Vera and travels to meet her, fighting Resonant entities along the way.

After a tense standoff, Zoe agrees to a partnership and Dylan is fitted with Dr. Casper Darling’s P6 Mobile Containment Device (MCD), a collar meant to suppress his abilities. Emily Pope and Simon Arish coordinate the Bureau’s response from a field office as Dylan works through the CFD crisis, temporal Underpass, and dimensional faults that lead him back toward the Hedron.

The Hedron fight and the “Fight to the Core” quest
The endgame proper begins with the quest Fight to the Core. Dylan approaches a glowing orange geometric anomaly on a distorted street and dives headfirst into a spiraling tunnel of city buildings while talking to Zoe over the radio. He lands in an arena in front of the Hedron core and grapples straight into it.
The battle advances through resonance chambers that become increasingly intense. Dylan stands amid fractal patterns and shifting light while psychic voices overlap, then attacks the core. He drops down to floating platforms for another assault, speaks with the entity for a third time, and strikes hard enough to split the dimension. He wakes in a sterile corridor, where The Board gives him a garbled message and the quest is completed.
Completing this stage awards a fixed set of rewards.

Ripping out the Mobile Containment Device
Killing the Hedron’s physical form does not end the threat. Dylan finds himself in a foggy wasteland as the Hedron’s resonance begins overtaking his mind. Zoe hesitates, then activates the P6 MCD remotely to try to stop the transformation. A live-action flashback of Dr. Casper Darling explains that the device disrupts neural activity and suppresses parautilitarian abilities through electric shocks.
The device fails to halt the takeover. It stops Dylan from fighting back rather than stopping the resonance itself, so he agonizes under the shocks and then manually tears the implant out of his own head. As he puts it, this is not how his story ends, not this time. The choice keeps his consciousness intact and starts the next quest, The End.
“The End”: the Astral Plane assault and the Board’s response
After removing the implant, Dylan passes through a bright red doorway into a grey void. On the far side of a glass partition, he sees his own bald reflection, corrupted by the Hiss. He summons a red aberrant melee baton and smashes through the barrier. He explains his plan: the Hiss inside him is under his control, and he will turn his resonance against the Hedron to kill it for good.
What follows is a platforming gauntlet through the Astral Plane, over crumbling pillars beneath a crimson sky, fighting heavily armored Hiss forces. The Board opposes the destruction outright, flashing warnings that killing the Hedron will kill “you/us.” When Dylan reaches the shattered Hedron and triggers a massive dimensional implosion, The Board declares him in BREACH OF CONTRACT. Dylan then floats through a tunnel of light and collapses lifelessly onto misty ground.
Jesse Faden’s sacrifice
Dylan does not stay dead. Jesse Faden arrives through a portal of light, finds him unconscious, and channels her power into his chest to revive him. The transfer works, but it drains her completely, and she collapses into unconsciousness herself. The revival is the moment that saves Dylan and the cost that takes Jesse out, leaving her comatose or succumbing to the same resonance.
The epilogue: Dylan’s freedom and FBC status
The campaign ends with Dylan and Zoe seated together on an outdoor bench, gazing toward a foggy skyline. Zoe tells him the FBC has issued a new birth certificate that recognizes him officially as a living contractor, and gives him back his old CD player. They discuss his freedom, the city’s damaged state, and what to do next; Dylan closes by asking whether they can help work it out. This ending leaves Dylan alive, in contrast to Jesse’s fall, as the pair consider a future beyond the Oldest House.
