The “Keep Searching for the Team” objective in Control Resonant drops you into the Underpass with a time anomaly rewriting the same research camp over and over. Three versions of that camp exist in the same stretch of broken concrete, and the quest only moves forward once you reach the third one and find a researcher who is still breathing.

Quick answer: Work through three near-identical research sites in the Underpass, reporting the bodies and then the anomaly, until you reach a site where the researchers are alive. Take Grist’s Tracking Device from the table.

What you need before the objective appears

The Recursions and Iterations main mission includes “Keep Searching for the Team.” It begins when you meet Pope in the Oldest House lobby, followed by a trip beneath the Sinkhole to the Underpass. During its opening objective, “Locate the research team,” you travel to an island with the beacon and a mass of orange pipes both in view.

That is where the mission stalls. Progress is gated behind two Faults, and not in the order the objectives suggest. You need to clear The Subway Fault in the Evacuation Zone first, which unlocks Reach, then return and complete The Underpass Fault at the orange pipes. Only after that do the beacon objectives open up and hand you the search step.

Coming back to the Underpass through The Spire fast travel point saves a long trek across the platforming sections.

The three research sites, in order

All three camps are built from the same pieces, including the red carpet on the floor, so it is easy to lose track of which one you are standing in. The state of the researchers is the reliable tell.

Route to Grist’s Tracking Device

Head to the first research site, the one sitting beside the cable car. The team here is already gone, laid out across the red carpet. Use the “Report dead researchers” prompt to log what you found with Zoe.

Leave the camp and start the platforming run across the floating concrete blocks. They shift and drift while you are mid-route, so line up each landing before you commit and let the yellow quest markers steer you.

Partway along, you reach a platform holding a phone-booth-style Fast Travel Door labelled Research Stations. Activate it. It becomes a map point you can jump back to, which matters if the anomaly or a bad landing sends you backwards.

Keep jumping across the moving concrete columns until you land at the second research site. Schultz and the rest of the team are alive when you walk in, then a red anomaly flash tears through the camp and kills them. Use the “Report Anomaly” prompt.
Follow the red carpet out of the second camp and clear the last set of concrete gaps. This stretch is the longest of the three, but the layout is the same idea, so trace the carpet and the markers toward the third site.
Land at the third research site. The team is alive again here. Talk to Grist, who explains that time in the Underpass is patterning, then grab Grist’s Tracking Device from the table beside her using the “Pick up the Device” prompt.

How to confirm the objective is complete

Picking up the device throws a +1 Grist’s Tracking Device pickup notification on screen, and the tracked objective flips from “Keep searching for the team” to Track the Time Fluctuations. If the objective text has not changed, you are still at the wrong camp, so check whether the researchers around you are alive and keep pushing forward.

From there, Recursions and Iterations continues with restoring the power and locating Grist, before moving on to the transmission tower and, eventually, the final probe relay. The Research Stations door you opened on the way in is the quickest way back into this part of the Underpass when those later steps send you across the same ground again.
