Leave the Oldest House is the first tracked objective in Orientation, the opening main mission of CONTROL Resonant. Dylan Faden wakes in a containment cell inside a facility already in lockdown, and the only goal is to reach the outside. The route is linear but poorly signposted in a few spots, and one closed security gate stops most players cold.

Quick answer: Follow the green-lit doors out of the medical bay, unlock the security gate from the control room on its left, then follow Thomas Street Exit signs through two elevators to the wall breach.

What you need before starting

Nothing. The objective begins the moment you gain control of Dylan at the start of the game, with no prerequisites and no equipment to prepare. Orientation as a whole starts in the Downtown chapter, Wake Up, and the Oldest House escape is only its first leg.

  • Starting area: the containment cell medical bay inside the Oldest House.
  • Navigation rule: doors marked with green lights are the ones that open.
  • Signage to follow: Central Executive first, then Thomas Street Exit.
  • Combat: one scripted Hiss encounter doubles as the combat tutorial.

Documents and lore pickups are scattered through the side offices along the way. None of them gate the objective, so you can walk past every one of them and still finish Orientation.

Route from the medical bay to the security gate

Leave the medical bay and head down the red-carpeted corridor past the rows of office desks. The doors at the far end are labelled Central Executive, which is the direction you want for the entire first half of the escape.
Continue until you reach a security gate that will not open when you approach it. Do not look for a switch on the gate itself. Step into the room immediately on its left, a control room lined with monitors and consoles, and activate the control inside to open the way through while Arish talks over the intercom about containment protocols.

Back in the corridor, bear left through the large metal doors and down the flashing red hallway. Wall signs here split toward Central Executive and Thomas Street Exit, and both point the same way at this stage.

Enter the first elevator, press the control panel, and ride it up. Dylan speaks during the ride, so there is a short pause before you can move again.

Crossing Central Executive and reaching the Thomas Street Exit

The elevator opens onto an upper corridor littered with fallen security personnel. From here the objective runs through the Central Executive chamber, where your first proper Hiss encounter takes place. The game uses this fight to teach Dylan’s basic attacks and defensive options, prompting you with the primary melee button.

Deal with the Hiss on the chamber floor, then take the stairs up. Enemies also hover above the open space, so keep moving rather than standing in the middle.
Work your way around the upper perimeter balcony. The Thomas Street Exit sign hangs over the correct corridor off this catwalk, and from that point on you can ignore Central Executive signage entirely.

Follow the long corridor beyond the balcony. Health and combat tutorial prompts appear on the right as you clear the stragglers along the way.
At the end of that hallway, take the second elevator up. The doors open onto a dark, ruined space with daylight visible ahead.

If you want the fastest possible run, the Hiss along the catwalk and the final corridor can largely be outpaced rather than fought. Only the Central Executive tutorial encounter needs clearing.

How to confirm the objective is complete

Walk toward the jagged opening torn through the far wall and interact with it. A cutscene plays as Dylan steps out of the Oldest House and into the street, and the tracked objective updates to the next stage of Orientation, which sends you southwest toward the Hotel to meet Zoe.

If you are still inside the building with the objective marker unchanged, you have not reached the breach yet. There is no alternate exit from this section, so retrace to the Thomas Street Exit signage and the second elevator.
