The Dream House is a hidden puzzle in CONTROL Resonant tied to an unfinished miniature model tucked inside an abandoned warehouse. Playing as Dylan Faden, you gather the scattered pieces, snap them onto the base, and then sketch the finished house to complete it. Nothing here requires combat or a special ability, only careful searching of the room and the walkway above it.

Quick answer: Inspect the model to start it, then place every loose piece in the room and on the catwalk (typically around eight, such as wall panels, a chimney block, a crate, roof boards, a potted plant and a toy dog) until Dylan says “Done,” and press Draw to sketch it.

Where to find the Dream House puzzle

The puzzle sits at the Railyard Street Station secret site in the Evacuation Zone, northeast of Survivalist’s Apartment, marked on the map with a “Secret – Visit this location to reveal a secret” prompt once you get close. It becomes reachable during the Urban Survival objective. Follow the misty stairwells and hallways down into the warehouse chamber, and you will see the incomplete model house resting on the floor near the center of the room.

Interact with the base to begin. Dylan comments that it looks like the building blocks of a house and that he wants to build a small model before sketching his own version. That dialogue confirms the puzzle is active and that the game is now tracking the pieces you attach.

How to build the model house

Every piece you need is inside this room or on the raised catwalk above it. The exact objects can differ, so gather every loose part you find rather than hunting for a fixed list. Pick up an object with the grab prompt, carry it to the model, and use the Drop Object prompt to attach it. Order does not affect the result, but the sequence below, which follows one typical layout, keeps your trips short.

Approach the model on the warehouse floor and inspect it to open the puzzle. Wait for Dylan’s line about building the model, which signals that the structure is ready to receive its missing parts.

On the ground floor, the wooden wall panel is beside the blue mattress. Lift it, carry it over to the model, and fasten it to the house’s side.

Grab the chimney block sitting near the same mattress. Bring it over and place it on top of the house.
Collect the wooden crate positioned between the concrete support pillars. Set it down at the base of the structure as the porch piece.

Climb the stairs to reach the upper catwalk, then collect the structural component from the floor. Return to ground level and fit it onto the model.
Grab the first slanted roof panel leaning near the pallets and place it onto the roof frame. This covers one side of the top of the house.
Take the small potted green plant from beside the lumber stack. Put it by the front of the house as a decoration.
Pick up the little green dog figurine from the floor beside the ladder and pillar. Bring it to the front of the house and set it next to the entrance.
Take the last flat roof board from the ground beside the lumber stack and lay it over the roof’s open side. When all the pieces are in place, Dylan says “Done,” signaling that the model is complete.

If Dylan says the model “still needs something” or that “something’s still not right” when you interact with it, one or more pieces are missing. Sweep the ground floor and the catwalk again for any object you have not yet picked up.

With the house complete, interact with it and choose Draw to trigger the sketching cutscene. Dylan draws the finished house in his notebook and remarks that it reminds him of his grandmother’s house.

Reward and how to confirm it worked

After the sketch cutscene, a collectible popup appears and the puzzle registers as complete. You can open the menu and view the Dream House document in the Archives under the Ordinary AWE category. The entry contains Dylan’s drawing of a rural cottage with a note on the back about wanting a house with big trees and room for a dog.

Finishing the sketch grants the following:

  • +1 Undefined Reading
  • +100 zone completion score
  • The Dream House collectible archive entry (Ordinary AWE)

Seeing the collectible popup and the new Dream House entry in your Archives is the clearest sign the puzzle is done. If Dylan says the model still needs something when you interact with it, a piece is missing; the sketch only triggers after he says “Done,” so return to the room and place any remaining piece before trying again.
