Emily Pope has an optional conversation in Control Resonant that most players walk straight past. It fires only after Dylan has actually used one of the shifting doors scattered around Manhattan, and it is the only place in the game where the Head of Research reacts to a piece of paranatural transit she has not been able to study herself.
Quick answer: Pass through a Fast Travel Door at least once, then speak to Emily Pope and choose I found a strange door… from the dialogue wheel.
Fast Travel Door locations you can use first
Fast Travel Doors unlock during the Welcome to Manhattan main quest. Until that quest is active, neither of the early doors will register, so there is nothing to tell Pope about. Two are reachable almost immediately.
| Door | Area | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Oldest House: Central Executive | Downtown | Second floor, end of the balcony in the large combat-practice hall |
| Outside the Oldest House | Downtown | Basket field, beside the Map Kit Sensor |
The Downtown door sits next to the Map Kit Sensor you are asked to switch on during the same quest. Activate the sensor while you are there, otherwise the door is easy to leave behind and you will have to walk back for it.

What Emily Pope says about the doors
Pope’s first reaction is straightforward alarm that Dylan used the thing at all. One of the doors turned up at the Field Office the previous day, she explains, and nobody on site was able to get near it. Dylan walking through one and coming out somewhere else is, as far as the Bureau’s research team is concerned, new information.
From there she runs straight into researcher mode, firing off questions about how the door works before cutting herself off and deciding to park them for another time. The practical result is a request rather than a warning. She wants Dylan to keep using the doors so she can pull readings off his MCD while he does it.
This is flavor rather than a mission. Agreeing to keep using the doors does not add an objective or change how fast travel behaves afterward.
How to confirm the dialogue played
The exchange ends on its own once Pope has finished asking Dylan to keep traveling. The camera pulls back out of the conversation framing and into the standard third-person view of the room, with Pope standing between two researchers working at whiteboards. That camera shift is the cue that the topic is done.

Reopen the wheel afterward and the door topic will no longer be on offer, while the remaining options stay available. If you still see I found a strange door… listed, the conversation has not been played through to the end yet, so select it again and let it run.
