The Party Won’t Stop is the side quest in Control Resonant’s West Incursion Zone where a karaoke machine is forcing an apartment full of people to dance themselves to death. Dylan can stop it by taking the microphone, but only if every lyric picked during the song is the right one. Get one wrong and a partygoer dies, which also costs you the hidden bronze trophy Be What You Want to Be.

Quick answer: Always pick the word that rhymes with the machine’s last sung word. The nine correct picks, in order, are Gasoline, Stress, So fleeting, Too long, Move, Fear, Everything, Higher and higher, and Shout.

All correct karaoke lyrics and directional inputs

The song runs for nine prompts. The first one offers a single option, so it is effectively free, but the later rounds put four words on screen with a short timer attached to each. Every choice maps to a direction on the stick or D-pad, so you can commit to the input before you finish reading if you already know the order.

OrderCorrect lyricInput
1GasolineRight
2StressLeft
3So fleetingRight
4Too longUp
5MoveLeft
6FearDown
7EverythingRight
8Higher and higherUp
9ShoutRight

There is no retry inside the song. Each incorrect lyric immediately kills one of the dancers, and once someone drops, the trophy is off the table for that run of the quest.

The rhyme rule behind every prompt

The machine sings a line, then hands the next line to you. The correct option is always the one that rhymes with the final word the machine just sang. Nothing about the meaning of the lyric matters, and the wrong answers are written to sound plausible in context, so reading for sense instead of sound is how most players lose someone.

The timer is the other half of the problem. Later prompts give you four words and only a few seconds, which is enough time to sound out one rhyme but not enough to weigh all four. Turn on subtitles if they are off, listen to the end of the machine’s line rather than the whole thing, and treat the directional input as the thing you are actually executing.

How to reach the karaoke party in the West Incursion Zone

The quest adds itself to the log the moment Dylan walks close enough to hear the music, so the only real task is getting through the door. The building is sealed from the inside, which means the roof is the only entrance.

Head for the “Singing Reported?” tag on the western side of the West Incursion Zone. You are looking for an apartment building with music pouring out of it and a body on the ground outside.
Call Zoe to report the abnormality when prompted. This logs the incident and formally starts The Party Won’t Stop.
Skip the front door entirely. It only opens from within, so trying to force it wastes time.
Warp to the roadside immediately left of the building, then press Shift to turn completely upside down. When gravity reorients you at the edge, step off and drift over to the neighboring rooftop.
Cross the roof past the bodies to the pair of blue doors and go inside. Follow the music down through the building until you reach the dance floor and the karaoke machine.

Set the answer order on screen or written down before you step up to the machine. Once the song starts, there is no pause point between prompts.

How to confirm the trophy unlocked and what you get

Clear all nine prompts without a single miss and the song ends with the entire crowd still alive. Be What You Want to Be pops shortly after the sequence finishes, alongside the quest completion in the log. If the trophy does not appear once the music stops, a dancer died at some point during the song.

The successful karaoke outcome also pays out two cosmetic and gear rewards for Dylan.

  • Varsity Jacket outfit item, which counts toward the outfit-collection trophies.
  • Untapped Bar Blade, an Artifact reward tied to the quest.

Be What You Want to Be sits in the hidden portion of Control Resonant’s 50-trophy list as a bronze, and it is currently one of the rarer unlocks on PSN at around 12 percent. That rarity is almost entirely down to the timer, not the puzzle itself, since the rhyme rule never changes across the nine rounds.

If the run goes badly, all Manhattan zones remain accessible after the story and New Game Plus carries over most progression, so a second attempt at the sequence is still viable. Going in with the nine answers memorised is far faster than planning around a repeat run, though, and the whole song is over in well under a minute.
