The Pumpkin Head is a novelty piece of headgear in Crimson Desert, crafted from a purchasable recipe. It sits under the Special Equipment category in the knowledge base, and while it looks absurd on Kliff, it carries a small Lightning Resistance value rather than meaningful defense.

Where to buy the Pumpkin Head crafting manual
The recipe is sold by a traveling merchant stationed at a ger (yurt) just outside the Eastern Court, in the southeastern portion of the Golden Plains area in Demenis. This same vendor also stocks fresh pumpkins, which makes him a one-stop shop for the bulk of the craft.
You will need to raise Trust with this merchant before he offers the manual. Gifting items he accepts, such as spare recipes or coin pouches, pushes Trust up quickly enough to unlock his full inventory in a short visit.

Materials required
Once the manual is purchased, the Pumpkin Head entry appears under Special Equipment in your knowledge base. The craft itself is straightforward and uses only two ingredients.
| Material | Quantity | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Pumpkin | 10 | Same merchant at the Eastern Court ger sells them in bulk |
| Cloth | 5 | Tailors and general vendors across Pywel |
The merchant typically carries around nine pumpkins per restock, so you may need to pick up the last one elsewhere or lift one off a nearby shelf if you are short.
Where to craft it
Pumpkin Head is forged at a Smithy, not a tailor, despite being a cloth-and-produce item. Any blacksmith in a town with a full forge will do.
Step 1: Travel to the nearest Smithy with the manual learned and materials in your inventory.

Step 2: Open the craft menu and navigate to Special Equipment, where Pumpkin Head will be listed alongside other unusual gear.
Step 3: Select Make to consume the 10 pumpkins and 5 cloth and receive the headgear.

Stats and what to expect
The Pumpkin Head is a cosmetic novelty more than a combat piece. It grants a small Lightning Resistance value and occupies the headgear slot, but it does not show meaningful defense in the equipment screen. Equipping it also severely restricts Kliff's field of view, so it is best treated as a visual gag or costume swap rather than a practical helmet for tough encounters.
NPC reactions to wearing it are worth noting. Guards and townsfolk will comment on the sight, with a few scripted greetings triggering when you walk past them in the helm.

Not to be confused with the Goblin Pumpkin Helm
There is a separate item often called the Goblin Pumpkin Helm that drops from pumpkin-themed enemies in the Demenis region, near the spire area encountered during the Crows questline, and reportedly behind a specific door in the Hinterlands. That piece is a world drop, not a craft, and is distinct from the Pumpkin Head covered here. If the goal is the crafted wearable version, the Eastern Court merchant route is the correct one.
With the manual learned, the pumpkins stacked, and a Smithy within reach, the Pumpkin Head takes only a minute to put together. It will not carry you through a boss fight, but it is one of the more memorable hats in Pywel.
