Crimson Desert is packed with unusual mounts, from rideable bears to wolves, but Marni's Mechahorse stands apart from all of them. This robotic steed — constructed from lightweight timber and strong alloy, per its in-game lore — never consumes stamina while riding and can even travel underwater. The downside is significant: you can't actually keep it. At least not yet.
Quick answer: Equip a Mask, head to the south gate of the City of Delesyia in the Eastern Hills, and press X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) to steal the mechanical horse from the NPCs guarding it. Ride away quickly to avoid a bounty.

Marni's Mechahorse location in Crimson Desert
The Mechahorse spawns just outside the south gate of the City of Delesyia, in the Eastern Hills region. When you arrive, a group of NPCs will be standing around the horse. You don't need to interact with any of them — they're essentially set dressing for the theft you're about to commit.
Walk up to the mechanical horse, and you'll notice you can pet it first, which is a nice touch. But the real action requires a Mask. Without one equipped, the game won't let you perform the steal interaction at all. If you haven't picked up a Mask yet, you'll need to find one before attempting this.

Stealing the Mechahorse without getting a bounty
Step 1: Open your inventory and equip a Mask before approaching the horse. The Mask is what enables the "Steal" prompt to appear.

Step 2: Walk up to the Mechahorse and press X on PlayStation or A on Xbox. The game registers this as a crime, and nearby NPCs will spot you immediately.
Step 3: Mount the horse and ride out of the area as fast as possible. If you leave quickly enough, you won't accumulate a bounty. Lingering near the scene will result in consequences.

What makes the Mechahorse different from other mounts
Two things set this mount apart from every other rideable creature in Crimson Desert. First, it does not consume stamina during normal riding. Every other horse in the game drains stamina as you gallop, but the Mechahorse just keeps going. Second, it can travel underwater — something no other mount currently does.
| Feature | Marni's Mechahorse | Standard Horses |
|---|---|---|
| Stamina consumption | None | Yes |
| Underwater travel | Yes (glitchy) | No |
| Armor equippable | No | Yes |
| Combat capability | No | Varies |
| Permanent mount | No (as of April 2026) | Yes |
The tradeoffs are real. You can't equip armor on the Mechahorse, and it won't fight alongside you the way some mounts can. It's purely a traversal tool — but a uniquely capable one.

Underwater travel is likely a glitch
Riding the Mechahorse into water lets you descend below the surface and walk along the bottom. There's actually a surprising amount of environmental detail down there, including vegetation and terrain geometry near the shoreline. But the experience is clearly unfinished. Movement feels erratic, visual artifacts like flashing lights and color distortion appear, and the camera behaves unpredictably in photo mode.
There's also a practical risk. Players have reported that after exiting the water, the Mechahorse can become stuck beneath the surface. The mount's AI attempts to path back to land but sometimes fails entirely, and the horse simply dies. Once that happens, it's gone. You'd need to return to the Delesyia south gate to steal another one.

Can you stable Marni's Mechahorse permanently?
No. As of April 2026, there is no way to register the Mechahorse in a Stable. It functions as a temporary mount only — once you dismount or leave the area, it disappears. There's no known workaround for this limitation.
That said, Pearl Abyss has a track record of converting unusual temporary creatures into permanent mounts through patches. Both the White Bear and the White Wolf (Silver Fang) followed this exact trajectory, starting as temporary encounters before becoming fully stableable. The Mechahorse fits the same pattern, so there's a reasonable chance it will become permanent in a later update. No official timeline for that change has been confirmed.
Nearby bonus: The Machina Knight boss and Electro-Mecha Longsword
While you're in the Delesyia region, it's worth visiting Marni's Outpost, located north of the "K" in "Gorthak" on the world map. The Machina Knight boss spawns here and drops the Electro-Mecha Longsword, a weapon with 27 Attack Damage and Lightning Affinity that can stun and electrocute enemies on hit. Interacting with the Machina Knight triggers the "Blade of Discipline" Delesyia Faction Quest automatically.
The fight has two distinct phases. In the first, the Machina Knight wields a longsword and telegraphs a three-hit combo you can parry with L1. Alternating between Turning Slash (R1+R2) and parry is the most reliable approach. The second phase swaps the sword for a spear, increases the boss's speed, and introduces invulnerable windows where it fires seeking cubes. Dodge through those phases instead of trying to parry, then return to the Turning Slash rotation when openings appear.
One important caveat about the Electro-Mecha Longsword: it cannot be upgraded or fitted with Abyss Gears, which limits its long-term viability. It's a strong early-to-mid weapon with a fun lightning effect, but don't expect it to scale into the endgame.

Marni's Mechahorse is one of those Crimson Desert secrets that feels like it's waiting for a bigger role. The stamina-free riding alone makes it worth the trip to Delesyia, and the underwater exploration — glitchy as it is — hints at possibilities Pearl Abyss might expand on later. For now, enjoy the ride while it lasts, and keep an eye on patch notes for any changes to its permanent mount status.
