Darnassus has exactly one Weapon Master, and she is easy to walk straight past. Ilyenia Moonfire sits on a platform at the edge of the Warrior’s Terrace, away from the trainers and battlemasters most players are already running toward, which is why so many night elf characters leave the city without ever training Bows or Staves.

The Warrior’s Terrace occupies the eastern side of Darnassus, just across from the Temple Gardens. Open your map and look for the Terrace label, then aim for the lower tier rather than the raised area where the warrior trainers stand. Ilyenia Moonfire is a level 50 elite humanoid with the Weapon Master title under her name, and she is friendly to Alliance players.

Weapon skills Ilyenia Moonfire teaches and what they cost
She trains five skills, each for 10 silver. There is no level requirement on any of them, so a fresh level 1 character can buy every skill on the list as soon as it can afford them. Her menu only shows the skills your class is allowed to use, so a shorter list is not a bug.

Bows are the notable one. Darnassus is the only Alliance city where you can train that skill, so hunters, rogues and warriors who want a bow have to make the trip to Teldrassil or find another way across. The Exodar weapon master exists only in TBC Classic.
Fist Weapons is its own purchase, but the weapon itself uses your Unarmed skill once equipped. Wands are never taught by a Weapon Master, since mages, priests and warlocks already start with that skill.
How to confirm the skill was trained
After you pay, 10 silver leaves your bags and the entry disappears from Ilyenia Moonfire’s list. Open your character window and check the Weapon Skills panel, where the new skill now appears alongside Defense and Unarmed with a progress bar at its starting value.
The practical test is simpler. Equip a weapon of that type. If the skill trained correctly, the item goes into your weapon slot instead of returning an error about not knowing how to use it.
From there the skill levels through use. Every swing that is not evaded has a chance to raise it, the cap is your character level times five, and faster weapons or instant attacks like Sinister Strike and Hamstring push it up more quickly because they generate more hits.
If you reach the Cenarion Enclave, you have gone the wrong way
The most common wrong turn in Darnassus is heading north out of the Temple Gardens instead of east. That path runs toward the Cenarion Enclave near the Craftsmen’s Terrace, which is where the druid and hunter trainers live, not the Weapon Master.
On the ground, the giveaway is a paved trail that slopes down into a cluster of tree structures with wooden entrance bridges. If you are crossing those bridges, turn around and head back south toward the Temple Gardens.
The stone pathway through the Enclave passes the saber mounts and continues toward a wooden ramp. Nothing along it trains weapon skills.
The ramp at the end climbs to an upper treehouse platform holding the stable master and the hunter trainer. If you are standing up there, you are two districts away from Ilyenia Moonfire.
Where to train the skills Darnassus does not cover
Ilyenia Moonfire’s dialogue includes an option that tells you exactly which city to visit for any skill she does not teach. If you would rather plan the trip in advance, these are the other Alliance Weapon Masters.

Polearms are the one exception to the flat price. That skill requires level 20 and costs 1 gold, and on the Alliance side it is sold by Woo Ping in Stormwind rather than in Darnassus.
For a night elf starting out, the cheap move is to stop by the Warrior’s Terrace before leaving Teldrassil for good. Five skills for 50 silver total is a small outlay compared to flying back across Kalimdor later just to pick up a bow.
