The Deduction and Revelation of the Culprit is a Hanan faction commission in Crimson Desert that gates progress behind a six-question deduction quiz, followed by a short raid to bring the suspect in alive. Pick the wrong option at any point and the dialogue resets, forcing you to sit through the entire conversation again.
Where to start the quest
The commission lives under Faction Quests, in the Hanan Commissions list, at the bottom of the Ambition in the Ruins line. Before the quiz triggers, you need to interview the witnesses scattered around the far northwest side of Hanan. Once those conversations are done, fast travel or ride to the deduction marker east of the interview area to begin the questioning sequence.
The six correct answers in order
The quiz presents six prompts back-to-back, each with two dialogue choices. Pick the option in the position listed below. The order is fixed, so any deviation drops you back to the start of the conversation.

Raiding the scene and capturing the culprit
Naming the culprit only finishes the deduction phase. The objective then updates to raid the hideout marked on your map and bring the suspect back alive.
Step 1: Ride to the waypoint that appears after the quiz. Approaching the marker triggers a cutscene that places you directly into the confrontation, so there is no need to engage enemies on the way in.
Step 2: After the cutscene, tie up the culprit and lift him onto your shoulder. He must be carried, not killed, or the objective will fail.
Step 3: Carry him back to the quest giver. A second cutscene plays on arrival, and the commission closes out shortly after, awarding completion credit for the Ambition in the Ruins line.
How to confirm it worked
You will know the deduction phase passed when the dialogue continues into the raid briefing instead of looping back to the first question. Final completion is confirmed by the closing cutscene at the quest giver and the quest dropping out of your active tracker into the completed log.
Why the quiz fails
There is only one valid answer path. Selecting any option out of the 1-2-2-1-1-2 sequence resets the conversation, and the deduction does not partially save progress between attempts. Skipping or missing one of the witness interviews beforehand can also lock you out of the quiz prompt entirely, so make sure every clue marker in the investigation phase is cleared before heading to the deduction location.
