Lament is the first Ultimate Appearance built for Terry “Shepherd” Musa in Delta Force, and it arrives as an Operator Research draw with a fixed, non-duplicate prize pool. Instead of one skin, it reworks how Shepherd looks, sounds, and behaves across a match, from a themed PKM machine gun to a unique execution finisher and a match-intro cinematic.
Quick answer: Lament has eight pulls and no duplicate rewards. Each of the first seven gives you a new item, with the price rising each time; the eighth grants Shepherd – Lament and the Lament Execution at no cost.
Release date and availability window
The Lament appearance becomes available on September 26 and can be obtained until September 25, 2027. In-game store timers show the period as 2026.9.26–2027.9.25, giving it a one-year availability window. It launches on PC, iOS, and Android.
The timing is not random. September 26 is the central day of Delta Force’s second-anniversary celebration inside the Season 11: Reorientation update, which also delivers the Layali Grove 2.0 Operations overhaul, The Mog Warfare map, and new weapons such as the MDR and Thompson.
How the Lament draw works
Lament is distributed through the same premium Operator Research category used for earlier Ultimate Appearances like Uluru’s Fury and Vyron’s Cosmic Guardian. The pool contains no duplicate rewards, so every pull gives you something new. Past events of this type accepted Delta Coins, Limited-Time Delta Tickets, or Delta Tickets as payment.
The event screen states the key rule: getting Shepherd – Lament also awards every prize still left in the pool. A full run takes eight draws to claim the whole set, with the final draw providing the operator skin and Lament Execution at no extra charge.

You will know the set is complete when the final cinematic plays and the “New Appearance Obtained” and “Execution Obtained” prompts appear. The full Lament kit then shows up in Shepherd’s customization menu, ready to equip.

The Lament Execution is included with the appearance. Earlier Ultimate sets offered no way to equip this finisher on its own, so the skin changes part of what you see on-screen during a match.
The look: desert, vinyl, and dog tags
Shepherd’s Lament look has a rugged Mad Max silhouette: he wears a dark, broad-brimmed cowboy hat edged in barbed wire, round sunglasses, a combat vest, and a ragged tactical cape. His red-and-black cybernetic right arm contains a record-player launcher.
Music shapes the entire set. Shepherd makes his way across enormous dunes scored like vinyl grooves toward a huge naval ship marooned in the sand under a ring-shaped sun. A turntable stylus repeatedly lands on a spinning red disc. The tagline’s “names” means dog tags: he lifts a brass pendant taken from a fallen ally, while rows of tags span his chest. The details present the outfit as a tribute rather than a typical combat redesign.
Sonic gadget skins and ability effects
Shepherd is an Engineer built around sonic control, and Lament changes the hardware’s appearance without altering its operation. Sonic Paralysis works as before, as does Sonic Trap, but using either ability produces custom red-and-black shockwave visuals.
The wrist gauntlet is styled as a record player. It loads and spins a vinyl disc during inspect animations, and in gameplay the same launcher fires a disc that widens into a large sonic field. The matching PKM machine gun skin gets its own inspect and sustained-fire showcase, and the custom grenade carries its own inspect sequence too.
Anniversary rewards on the same day
September 26 also opens the main anniversary reward period. From September 26 through October 25, login and match objectives offer up to 3,900 Limited-Time Delta Tickets. On the 26th, logging in and finishing a single match secures 1,000 tickets through the Day 1 Gift Box.
Because Limited-Time Delta Tickets are one of the currencies these Operator Research events have accepted, they can go toward the draw. How much of Lament that free allocation covers has not been confirmed, so it is safest to treat the ticket haul as a partial offset rather than a guaranteed full clear. You will know the event is live when its store page appears in-game on September 26.
