Every main Season Journey objective in order, the exact difficulty gates, and the Skill Points, Paragon, Sparks, and caches you earn.

Every main Season Journey objective in order, the exact difficulty gates, and the Skill Points, Paragon, Sparks, and caches you earn.

The Season Journey is where all of Season 14’s gameplay power lives. In the Season of Death Awakening, the main Season Rank chain runs nine ranks, and you can only reach the next rank after finishing the one before it. Each step names a specific dungeon, boss, or difficulty gate, and clearing it pays out a fixed bundle of Skill Points, Paragon Points, materials, and cosmetics.

Quick answer: Complete each listed objective in order to unlock the next rank. Finishing the full chain earns up to 12 Skill Points, 42 Paragon Points, 7 Resplendent Sparks, and 5 Mythic Unique caches, all for free.

How Season Rank progression works in Season 14

The main track is strictly sequential. Each objective unlocks the rank above it, so you cannot jump ahead. The early ranks send you into named dungeons at set monster levels and difficulties, and the later ranks switch to boss kills at rising Torment tiers. The chain ends with a bonus rank that asks you to finish 10 optional objectives or challenges from a separate list of more than 20.

Everything here is account-wide and free for anyone who owns the game. None of these rewards sit behind Platinum or the Battle Pass Reliquaries, which are cosmetic only.

Total power rewards from the Season Journey

Adding up the whole track, the Season Journey pays out the season’s real character strength. These totals include the main rank chain plus the wider Season Journey objectives.

Resplendent SparksUp to 7
Mythic Unique Caches5

Spend Smoldering Ashes on Season Blessings early

Several ranks award Smoldering Ashes, which you spend on account-wide Season Blessings. These are not cosmetic. They boost your farming for the rest of the season, so activate them as soon as you can rather than saving them.

Urn (Blessing)Effect
Urn of Death AwakeningBoosts Glints of Hope reputation earned from all sources
Urn of ReclamationRaises the chance of rare materials from salvaging
Urn of MasterworkingRaises the chance to drop additional Obducite
Urn of GlyphsGrants a chance for an extra upgrade when improving glyphs
Urn of Ancestral WhispersBoosts the chance for an Ancestral Cache when turning in Whispers

The Urn of Death Awakening is usually the strongest early pick, since more Glints of Hope means faster reputation, which feeds Pandemonium Fragments and Mythic crafting. After that, the Urn of Masterworking is the most broadly useful for gearing.

How to confirm a rank unlocked

When you finish an objective, the Season Journey menu marks that rank complete and opens the next rank in the chain. Its rewards land in your inventory or claim queue right away. If the next rank is still locked, the current objective has not registered as complete, most often because the run was on a lower difficulty or tier than the requirement states.

The difficulty gates are strict. Boss kills for the later ranks must be done at the exact Torment tier named, and the Echo of Mephisto rank specifically requires Torment X. Roughly 15% of the wider Season Journey objectives also require the Lord of Hatred expansion, so free-edition players will not be able to finish every single one.

The bonus objectives sitting alongside the main chain are worth the detour. They tend to be easier than the ranked bosses and layer on extra cosmetics, materials, and caches across the season, so work them in whenever they line up with what you are already farming.
