Dokkodo spreads its world across two main regions, Kyoto and Nara, each packed with shops, dojos, castles, outposts and shrines. Knowing where to spawn, where to buy weapons and armour, where to learn stances, and where the bosses and questlines live saves a great deal of wandering. Below is every location, grouped by region, with what each one holds.
Kyoto
Kyoto is one of the two main regions. It is where you spawn, where the core shops sit, and where the retainer’s license questline begins.

At Nijo Castle you mainly follow the retainer’s license questline, defeating 3 retainers in a duel after answering the Shishodai’s questions. Instead of dueling the 3 retainers, you can choose to create your own clan: when speaking with the shishodai you pay 1,000 mon (currently) and choose a name, clan emblem and colors.
