Norgan is the snowbound region added with Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, a stretch of the old kingdom of Vermund abandoned long ago and now left to savage packs and oversized beasts. The map does not physically join the base game world, and travel inside it runs on Norgan Portcrystals rather than the ones you planted elsewhere. Dropping in as a Warrior, with greatsword on the back and no shield to hide behind, turns the region into a pure test of timing: you either end a fight with a heavy swing or eat the counter.
Quick answer: A Warrior-vocation Arisen culls serpents and a Norgan Giant across the snowfields, appraises relic Spoils at the Norgandian Settlement, and descends through the Norgan Snowfield into the Snowfall Valley Derelict Passage.
Dwayne’s culling request and When the Culling Gets Tough
The run begins at the Norgandian Inn, where Dwayne asks for help thinning the monsters outside the gates. Speaking with him starts the side quest When the Culling Gets Tough, and he leaves the settlement alongside the party to hunt.

It does not go as planned. Once fighting starts, Dwayne freezes with fear and stops contributing, leaving the Arisen and pawns to clear the area alone. After the beasts are down, he admits he is not ready and asks to train before trying again, which puts the quest on hold. Completing it later pays out 25,000 XP and the Ring of Brawling. Dwayne also features in a follow-up, Bout of Passage, a coming-of-age fistfight the Arisen can take part in for Norgan’s future guardian.

Add to Google Preferences →Serpents and snowy beasts along the river
The first real fights are against purple-scaled serpents in the shallow riverbed, mixed in with wolves and other snow wildlife. Serpents are the easy mark here for a Warrior, because their bodies take extra damage from slash attacks and shrug off strike and lightning. A greatsword lines up neatly with that weakness.

More serpents appear further along the water before the party checks the map. Here are the shipped combat figures for the two large enemies the Warrior faces most across the session:
| Enemy | Health | Weak to | Resistant to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Norgan Giant | 240,000 | Fire | Ice |
| Serpent | 21,000 | Slash | Strike, Lightning |
A defeated Serpent is worth 950 experience and can drop Norgan Salmon, Scrag of Beast, and Boltscale, among others. It is also immune to the Unconscious state and takes no lightning damage at all, so any electric tools in the party are wasted on it.

The Norgan Giant: health, weak points, and freeze breath
Deeper in the snowfield stands the Norgan Giant, a horned, furred beast that wrecks the party on first contact. Its big threat is a wide blizzard breath that inflicts frostbite and can freeze pawns solid, which is exactly the moment a Warrior’s long, uncancellable swing animation becomes a liability. Getting caught mid-swing in the freeze window means taking the follow-up for free.

The Giant carries 240,000 health spread across five health-bar segments, with 450 defense and 750 knockdown power. It is weak to fire and resistant to ice, so cold attacks are the worst possible choice against it. Its body only takes half damage from fire, but its head takes 1.2 times fire damage, which is where you want to aim for anything with reach. Striking the tusks staggers it and opens a window to knock it down. A kill is worth 55,000 experience and drops like Ponderous Bone, Boreal Tuber, and Frigid Fungus. Stronger variants push the experience to 78,000, and Hard Mode raises its strength to 7,000 while cutting the damage it takes to 0.8.
A Warrior has no block and no healing of its own. Without cold-resist gear or a pawn that covers ice resistance, a frozen Warrior mid-commitment is usually a dead one, and the session shows repeated party wipes to exactly that.
Relics and the Spoils appraisal loop
Norgan drops gear differently from the rest of the game. Weapons and armor come in unappraised, listed only as Spoils by level and type, such as Lv. 2 or Lv. 3 Ancient Light Weaponry, Plastron, or Greaves. You carry these back to the settlement and have the appraiser Jiera identify them for Rift Crystals, at which point they resolve into equipment with randomized stats and effects. Some appraised gear even unlocks unique skills.

The session fills bags with these drops, plus materials like Prismatic Stony Scale, Direwolf Pelt, and Nokken Tail, before stopping at Jiera to turn the piles of raw Spoils into real gear. For a Warrior, the pieces worth watching for are relic greatswords that roll a unique skill or a raw Strength bonus.
Warrior weapon skills used in Norgan
At Dwayne’s vocation menu, the loadout is tuned by swapping Steel Cleave out for Diluvian Strike. These are the relevant Warrior skills and how they are obtained:

| Skill | Discipline cost | Vocation rank | Upgrades to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diluvian Strike | 2,000 | 7 | Diluvian Tremor |
| Steel Cleave | 5,000 | — | Titanic Cleave |
| Arc of Might | — | — | — |
Diluvian Strike upgrades Surging Strike with greater damage, then develops into Diluvian Tremor. Added in Dark Arisen, Steel Cleave is an improved Iron Cleave that costs discipline at the Obelisk of Benediction in Norgan, not from a trainer. A Maister teaches Arc of Might through the Champion’s Fable; it channels the user’s full strength into one attack and empties the Stamina bar. With six skill slots available to Warrior, you can equip a high-damage move, a crowd-clearing skill, and a defensive option together.
Camping, cooking, and curatives
Norgan survival depends on making good use of campsites. Before a battle where you expect freeze damage, cook meat over a campfire; Aged Scrag of Beast is one option, and the meal gives every party member a strong boost to Strength, Defense, Stamina, and Recovery. At camp, storage lets you craft curatives and roborants from ingredients between outings.
The two meat curatives seen most often restore health on the spot:
| Item | Buy price | Health restored |
|---|---|---|
| 100 G | 110 | |
| 200 G | 230 |
Scrag of Beast ages into Aged Scrag of Beast over time, and the aged version can be cooked or combined into Dried Meat. Both drop from a wide range of snow creatures, so stock tends to build naturally while culling.

Reaching the Snowfield and the Derelict Passage
Exploration takes the party across the cliffs and ruins of the Mountain Stronghold and North Valgrian Frostgrove, tossing enemies off ledges and prying open chests in ruined towers. Approaching a specific cave triggers a mandatory cutscene with Wash that advances the Sealed History questline and sets up a base camp.
At a fortified gate, a sign warns that the elevator beyond leads down to the Norgan Snowfield, where bearings are easily lost in the unchanging snow. Pulling the lever rides the lift into the canyon, though the same descent can be made by hand using climbing hooks and rope anchors on the sheer rock faces. Down in the valley sits the Snowfall Valley Derelict Passage, an underground ruin of broken urns and hidden stone chests packed with Lv. 3 Ancient Spoils. That cavern is where the session finally stops, Spoils bags full and ready for another appraisal run at the settlement.
