Beating Satanachia does not roll the credits and send you to a menu. The Forsaken Dominion keeps running, Norgan stays playable, and the game hands you a tool for bringing the climax back. Here is exactly what the game does once the Fallen Dragon falls, what the endless night over Norgan actually changes, and how to trigger the final boss a second time.
Quick answer: The game keeps going. After Satanachia falls, two short scenes play, control returns inside the Norgandian Inn, and Norgan stays open — and the Blade of Rancor can restart Ruin-Night for another fight.
What happens right after the Fallen Dragon (Reunion)
Beating the Fallen Dragon wraps up the quest “Reunion” and frees Master Rovall, though the region remains unsettled. A title card appears before you regain consciousness at the Norgandian Inn in the Norgandian Settlement. Night still covers the area.
Dorin takes you outside and directs your attention skyward: a dark disc edged by a pale, ragged rim looms above the settlement. He asks you to investigate its source. The “Reunion” rewards arrive immediately: 450,000 XP, a Norgan Portcrystal, 100,000 G, and 10,000 RC.
The follow-up quest “Into Rancor” begins on its own the moment you have control. Its first two on-screen lines are “Consult with Polyeidus.” and “Norgan was enveloped in darkness.” The quest text calls what has settled over the land the darkness of an unending night.

After the Fallen Dragon falls, Norgan is covered by a seemingly eternal darkness called Ruin-Night. This condition lasts throughout “Into Rancor” and ends only when you destroy the power waiting at Niflhel’s bottom. Night holds everywhere you go.
The disc appears distant and small from the settlement, but after you ascend the long stairway to Abyss Ridge, it stretches across half the sky.

Ruin-Night also brings out rancor’s vortexes across the region. At Abyss Ridge the Pathfinder appears, the objective becomes “Dispel several rancor’s vortexes,” and you receive the Soulless Godsbane Blade. A tutorial explains that you can use the Eye of the Sphinx to mark the vortexes on your map while they are active in Norgan.
Using the Eye of the Sphinx covers the Norgan map in purple swirl markers; the dark pit near Lorade Castletown bears the label Niflhel Opening. Inspecting a rancor’s vortex seals the nearby area, leaving you trapped in a confined space against successive waves of powerful enemies. You must defeat every foe before you can leave and collect the reward.
The two Godsbane blades
You carry two Godsbane variants through this stretch, and neither can be sold.
Soulless Godsbane Blade
You obtain this at Abyss Ridge. The Godsbane blade has already served its purpose: Rovall’s soul departed from it and returned to the Fallen Dragon, leaving the weapon empty.

Blade of Rancor
After you dispel enough vortexes, the empty blade takes in rancor’s powers and transforms into the Blade of Rancor. The item appears at the same time as the quest line “You acquired the Blade of Rancor.” At Abyss Ridge’s edge, the restored blade grants passage into Niflhel. It can also restore Ruin-Night after the ending.

What happens after Satanachia
Satanachia, the wicked power in Niflhel Depth, brings Ruin-Night to an end when defeated. The kill reward comes first, followed by two scenes: the Arisen floats through a white void, then awakens in a bed inside a wooden room as daylight enters through the window; the Pathfinder speaks from a stone ledge above the abyss. The Pathfinder’s message is that the battle has ended, the danger cannot be erased permanently, the blade can reopen Niflhel, and you should return to your own world.
Control then returns inside the Norgandian Inn, in front of the innkeeper. The area label briefly still reads “Lorade Castletown” before switching to “Norgandian Inn,” so do not read that leftover label as a point of no return — the room is the inn, and Norgan is still fully playable.
A tutorial titled “The Blade of Rancor” opens before the rewards land. It spells out what the blade now does:
At Abyss Ridge, use the Blade of Rancor to plunge Norgan into Ruin-Night, causing turmoil throughout the land and bringing rancor’s vortexes back. This gives you access to the malevolent force in Niflhel. To end Ruin-Night, jump into Niflhel and defeat that force again.
Then “Into Rancor” pays out: the banner reads “You felled Satanachia.”, and you receive 500,000 XP, 100,000 G, 15,000 RC, and three Lv 5 Ancient spoils (Ancient Helm, Ancient Bowstaff, and Ancient Light Weaponry), followed by “Completed: Into Rancor.” Seeing that completion line is how you know the post-game quest is wrapped and the region has returned to day.

How to fight Satanachia again
The Blade of Rancor stays with you, allowing another fight against the final boss. Brandish it at Abyss Ridge to restore Ruin-Night and its vortexes, then jump into Niflhel for a rematch. Once the night begins, it persists until you win again. Above the Castle Barracks Ruins in Lorade Castletown, Abyss Ridge stands beside the pit marked Niflhel Opening on the map.
A harder form of the encounter is available as well. Dispel a rancor’s vortex and virulent rancor appears in the aftermath, where you face tougher enemies and can be rewarded with valuable spoils and Morbid Glares. Bring three Morbid Glares into Niflhel to remove the soul seal and reveal the Thane of Darkness’s true might. Defeating Satanachia at this greater strength earns additional rare spoils and the Dawnbringer pawn badge. Devouring rancor contains even stronger enemies for players seeking the toughest fights to grind.
Satanachia exists in two versions, one with more Health than the other.
| Satanachia version | Health |
|---|---|
| Standard | 427,330 |
| Stronger variant | 619,000 |
Satanachia takes 20 percent extra damage to the head from slash and strike attacks, so physical weapons aimed at its head do the most work.
Post-game quests and reward values
Two side quests open up only once “Reunion” is done. They are “Beyond Ruin-Night” and “A Keepsake, for Your Sake”. Here is how the main post-game rewards line up.
| Quest | XP | Other rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Reunion | 450,000 | Norgan Portcrystal, 100,000 G, 10,000 RC |
| Into Rancor | 500,000 | 100,000 G, 15,000 RC, three Lv 5 Ancient spoils |
| Beyond Ruin-Night | 100,000 | 8,000 RC |
| A Keepsake, for Your Sake | 80,000 | 3,000 RC, plus either a Treatise on Proficiency or 10 Norgan Ducats |
Restarting with your character carried over
To replay the journey, you can turn your save into transfer data and begin a new playthrough. Your level and equipment remain, while quest progress is wiped. After conversion, the sole available option is “Restart game with current level and equipment,” so make that selection knowing it is final.
Repeatable Niflhel battles, post-game quests, and the chance to begin again at your current strength give you plenty to pursue after obtaining the Blade of Rancor.
